silence filled the car as you looked out the window, billy had left early that morning and gave you and max no chance to get ready

so susan had to drop you both at school, which would make her late to work

"oh dear, i'm so late!" she said as she checked her watch and parked her car right outside the school

"thanks for the ride susan, i hope your boss understands why you're so late" you smile at her and she's give a smile back in return, "you're welcome y/n. see you max"

max sighed, "bye mom"

"give it back!" a familiar voice shouted, making max jump a little and you snapping your head in the direction the yell came from

jonathan was standing there whole billy was in front of him with his camera

the camera smashed on the ground

a smirk appeared on billy's face as he walked away but then his eyes met yours and max's

"let's go max" you whisper as billy walks towards you

you and max quickly walk into the school, sounds of talking and laughter filled your ears

"i'm going to go find lucas and the others okay?" max said and you smiled, "yeah go ahead and if you see steve tell him to meet me at my locker at lunch" "okay see you at billy's car after school i guess"

she walked away into the crowd

"y/n!" someone called out and hugged you from behind,
"steve!" you turn around and give him a kiss on the cheek

"i missed you so much hargrove"

"i missed you too harrington"

you kiss him then he breaks it,
"i've got to go, i meant to be meeting tommy and shit"
you give him a pout as those words left his mouth, making him sigh "i have to y/n"

"fineeee" you whine, "but meet me at my locker at lunch okay?"
"okay" he gives you one last kiss before walking away into the crowd of people like max did earlier

you push past people to get to your locker and see billy standing there,
"so you see that cool little thing i did to byers camera?"

"yes bill. yes i did." you say through gritted teeth as you open your locker, "funny right?" he laughs and you turn to face him

"billy you're not funny, you made susan late to work today, you made dad furious once again and you just broke jonathan's camera!" you glare at him and turn back to your locker to get your books

"what ever, you and max were the ones that's wouldn't get up earlier enough to get a ride"

"5 o'clock in the morning is a shitty time to go to school" you say with your books held by your chest and he slams your locker making you jump and others too

"well maybe if we didn't move to hawkins i would of waited for you" he snaps and walks away

you glare at him as he walks away and lock your locker.

people stare at you as tears stream down your face

"y/n?" you heard a soft voice say and walk towards it, "nancy." you say in reply, "are you okay?" she asks as she opens her locker

"it's just billy, that's all" you say as you wipe your tears away, "what happened? what did he do?" she asks and closes her locker
"he's just a dick" you sigh and nancy locks her locker, "oh" she says and gives you a weak smile

"hey can you write down your telephone number? maybe we could hang outside of school one day.." she trails off and hands you a pen and paper

the bell rings, making you write your telephone number down fast.

"there" you say and hand her the paper and pen

"i'll call you sometime, see you around y/n" she smiles and walks away

you walk slowly down the hallway,
already dreading class
