Chapter 3 - Waking Up In Different Spaces

Previously:
- Angela and Thomas picked up Catherine from (Y/N)'s house
- (Y/N) was taken to the Rosewood Institute earlier that day
- On their way home, there was a boy that Angela almost hit
- The boy introduced himself as Newt

Chapter 3 - Waking Up In Different Spaces

Angela and Thomas dropped off Catherine to her house. When she was heading to the hotel where Thomas was staying, he stopped her.

"I'm staying at your house tonight. I don't want you to be alone with this stranger," he pointed at Newt who was still unconscious.

Angela didn't argue and drove to her house. She still hasn't told anyone that the boy calls himself Newt. She immediately thought of Newt from The Maze Runner which was Thomas's role in the movie. Then she also thought of (Y/N) who was in an asylum because she thought that she went to the world of The Maze Runner.

That's impossible, she thought. Maybe the boy just calls himself Newt like some weird nickname.

When they got to her house, both she and Thomas dragged Newt to her house. They agreed if anyone was going to ask, he was her cousin who got in a fight. Thankfully, nobody asked who the boy was and they were able to bring him inside her house. When they were able to place him on a chair, Thomas let out a breath and was trying to get a cigarette stick that Angela swiped from his hand. Thomas rolled his eyes but he didn't complain.

"Get him some of your clothes," Angela told him. Thomas has some clothes in her house since sometimes he'd stay over.

"You think they'll fit?" Thomas eyed Newt's muscles.

"They're the only clothes we have that might."

Thomas went to the guest room which was his room when he'd stay over. While he was picking out some clothes, Angela was undressing Newt out of his wet clothes. She only took out his shirt before Thomas came. When they were down, they laid Newt on the couch.

"So he'll sleep on the couch?" He asked.

"I guess so."

"We can't leave him here alone. He might steal something."

"Then, I'll watch over him. I'll stay here for the night."

"You're not going to watch over him alone!"

"If anything happens, I'll scream."

"Stop treating this so lightly!"

Angela bit her cheek. She didn't notice how anxious Thomas was about this. "I'm sorry. Do you want to keep watch with me? We could watch a movie and share earphones. We'll sleep on the floor with a mattress just like before."

Thomas contemplated for a while. "Alright. Change first before you get sick."

Newt remembered the cold and sharp droplets of rain on his skin. It was the first time he's ever experienced that. It was both thrilling and nerve racking, especially since he was dumbfounded last night not knowing where he was. But now as he started to wake, he felt warm and that he was sleeping on something soft.
