Chapter 19 - Eyes Vacant and Stained

- Catherine, Thomas, and John see Angela in her own pool of blood and unconscious
- Catherine leaves to find some help
- Meanwhile, Newt and James are also in the Rosewood Institute
- But (Y/N) was only able to see James
- Disappointed and thinking that he tricked her, she left without giving him a chance to explain

Chapter 19 - Eyes Vacant and Stained

When (Y/N) left, James wanted to go and try to catch up to her. He wanted to tell her that Newt was here to see her. But he also wanted to try to find Newt. At least he knew that (Y/N) would just stay here but he didn't know where Newt would go. He didn't know this place. He could get lost.

So James decided he'd try to find Newt first before going back to (Y/N). When he reached the receptionist, he asked him where Newt might have gone.

"I saw him running over there," he gestured to the left hallway.

"Where does that go to?"

"The garden."

James groaned. The Rosewood Institute was quite famous for their garden. It was really big and you could get lost in it. They made this so, so that the patients could have a good place to think and explore if they even get bored. If Newt goes there, James has no idea if he'll ever find him.

But before James could take one step, he was surprised to see Catherine. She was running and didn't notice him. He had to stop her and hold her by the shoulders.

"James," she said when she realized it was him. "What are you- Never mind I have to go."

"What's going on?" He asked. "No one was in the Visitor's Area."

"It's Angela. Something's wrong with her."

Right. James forgot all about Angela, despite telling Newt that she was the reason why he was going there.

"What happened?"

"She fainted. There was blood coming out of her ears and nose."

"It's starting," James said under his breath, but it was enough for Catherine to understand.

"You know what's happening to her? Come on, you need to see her," she pulled him with her. He lost the chance to go find Newt.

When the doctors came, they put her in a stretcher and carefully got her out of the bathroom. Thomas and John were following the doctors close by. Throughout the journey to the room where the doctors could see what was wrong with her, Thomas didn't let go of Angela's hand. He didn't want to let her go.

It still hasn't sunk into him that there's a chance that he could lose her any minute. He still thinks and hopes that it might be one of Angela's jokes. Or that it wasn't as serious as it looks like. Of course, all that blood around her didn't look like it wasn't serious. But still, Thomas hasn't given up on her.

Somehow, he expects Angela to open her eyes any second and smile. He remembered when she suffered a fever when she was around thirteen. He came around to see how she was doing. Before he went in her room, her mom made him carry some soup for her. When he entered her room, she was asleep. Thomas just planned to leave the soup there for her until she wakes up. But when he laid it down by her bedside table, the sound must've woken her up and she slowly opened her eyes and smiled at him.
