Chapter 18 - We Are So Far From You

- Angela, Thomas, and Catherine are in the Rosewood Institute
- John came to see Angela after the revelation that she's his daughter
- Thomas, Catherine, and John left to find Angela who was said to be in the bathroom
- They came inside and saw a horrific sight
- James and Newt were also headed to the Rosewood Institute

Chapter 18 - We Are So Far From You

The receptionist in the Rosewood Institute thought that (Y/N) must've been a very popular person despite being here for only a few days. Because now there was another set of visitors for her. One of them he's seen two days ago (James Dashner), the blond boy was someone new.

"(Y/N) is at the visitor's area down the hall. I'll find someone to lead you the-"

"It's alright," said James. "Down the hall you say? We can find it. Come on Newt."

The two of them walked down the hallway. James was in front while Newt was slowly walking behind him.

"Newt what's wrong?"

"Why couldn't I just stay in the car?"

"I want to help with finding Angela."

Newt knew it was a lie. James was still keen on his plan to get him and (Y/N) to meet. Newt didn't want to, but he also wanted to. But now wasn't the time for him to be selfish.

"James please."

"Nothing bad will happen," he stated. "Now, come on," he gripped Newt's wrist.

The two of them passed by a bathroom where they didn't know that one of the people they're looking for is in.

"John won't be glad to see me."

"John is occupied."

"But-"

Newt's words faded when he saw the sigh on top of a room saying Visitor's Area. He tried to take his wrist away from James's and run. No, he shouldn't see her. She shouldn't see him. He didn't want to ruin her life. As much as Newt struggled in James's grasp, he wasn't able to escape.

"Newt trust me."

"No!"

James opened the door without warning and Newt froze.

"Oh. Looks like you had nothing to worry about," James said with disappointment.

After the searching the room, Newt was both disappointed and relieved. (Y/N) wasn't there.

Earlier, when (Y/N) came and saw that there was no one in the room, she left. She opened her notebook and tried to see what she wrote there. She wrote that she's going to have visitors today right after her session. She wrote that Anya showed her around the garden and she saw the hedge maze. It reminded her of her days as a Runner.

She saw that she didn't write that she was told earlier that her visitors were already there. In just a span of a few hours, she became really reliant on her notebook. Doubt came in her mind that maybe it didn't really happen.
