Chapter 9 - Porcelain Heart
7:00 pm
"Today, I had my first session. Then I had lunch. Went to the garden. Went back to my room. I read a book."
(Y/N) was trying to list down the things that she did today. She wanted to test her mind.
"Session. Lunch. Garden. Room. Read a book."
She repeated that sentence for quite a while until she felt satisfied. Then she took the notebook she was given. She checked to see if what she recalled was indeed accurate.
It wasn't.
Today, she did have her first session. Then she had lunch and went to the gardens. She went back in her room but she didn't read a book.
"Well, it wasn't a big deal," (Y/N) said. No one cares if she read a book or not.
She finished her dinner and decided to go take another walk. There wasn't much to do here. For some reason, they wasn't any signal around here whatsoever. So (Y/N)'s phone had no use except for music.
While (Y/N) was walking around the garden, she watched as the sun started to set. She remembered when she'd have this view in the Glade. She'd lie down on the grass and watch as the sun would set. She loved those moments of pure bliss. Watching the sun here wasn't the same, of course, but it still gave her some sense of bliss.
When the sun was gone, the lights around the garden lit up.
(Y/N) started to walk around again, trying to find a way for her to escape. She was at the edge and saw that what she thought was a hedge was actually a wall covered with vines. Sort of like in the Maze. The wall was eight feet tall. She couldn't climb up as much as she tried. Her last attempt made her fall on her back.
"Are you alright?"
Despite the pain on her back, (Y/N) shot up, feeling nervous that she was caught trying to escape. To her relief, it wasn't a doctor or a guard. It was just a teenage girl who's a patient like her. The girl had jet black hair that was fixed in a ponytail. She was also carrying two bucket full of mud...whatever that was about.
When she saw (Y/N)'s stance which was ready to run away, she laid down her two buckets and raised her hands.
"Don't be scared," she said, "I'm harmless." (Y/N) stared at the girl. She was trying not to look intimidating and was wearing an innocent and sweet smile.
"What's with the mud?"
"I like pottery and sculpting," she said. "I've never seen you here before, what's your name?" She asked perkily.
(Y/N) was still wary of this girl, but her energy reminded her of a certain blonde girl.
"I'm Anya," she offered her hand. "Don't worry, I won't tell anyone. I tried to do it too the first time I was here."
