They led her into a dimly lit room, with a red tone illuminating it and bouncing off of the walls. She was standing up now, the two guards holding her by her arms. There was an elder lady in the room also, about five feet away from her. The old lady was standing there, lifelessly. Her hand looking down at the ground, not a muscle moving. There were red curtains surrounding the doorway where the old lady stood, making her look even more intimidating than she should have. Alice was beginning to feel afraid now, this whole situation seemed calm, the guards weren't yelling at her, and Kid was no where to be seen. It was like they knew that they had won.
Alice started to look around and take in her surroundings, as she did that she noticed a shadow creeping out from one of the hallways. Ever so slowly, Kid emerged from behind a large white door.
Making eye contact with Alice, he motioned for her to keep her eyes on him.
"Don't move." He mouthed.
Alice heard the click of a gun and tried not to flinch. It was Kids gun, not the guards. There was a loud bang, and Alice's heart jumped as she felt one of the men behind her release his grip on her, followed by a thud. The other guard, jumped back, taken by surprise. Another bang, and that guard went down too. Alice rushed over to a corner of the room, but yet the woman still had not moved a muscle.
Alice looked at Kid, and he shot her a sympathetic look. But within a matter of seconds he was behind the old woman with the gun pointed straight at her head. Alice closed her eyes as another shot rang out, and the old lady crumpled to the floor.
No one was around at this point, and Kid came out of the shadows fully, facing Alice with the gun dangling from his hands.
"You killed them all? The poor old lady.." Alice trailed off as tears began to slip down her porcelain face.
"Stop." Kid said firmly, and Alice sniffled but this only made the tears come faster.
"She was already dead, Alice. Didn't you see? She wasn't moving, not even to breathe. They were going to kill you, and bring her back to life using what was left of you."
"How do you know?" Alice sniffled.
"Because she's my grandmother." Kid let put a deep breath as he said this, and Alice just stared at him, a look of complete anger and betrayal on her face.
"You knew about this the entire time?" Alice asked.
"No, of course not. I had no idea, I haven't saw my grandmother since i was just a child." Kid's voice got softer, as if he was remembering his childhood times."Come on, we have to go." Alice wasn't reacting as she had expected she would, she didn't even seem to care at all. They left the house together, and walked out into open field.
