This day was differant than any of the previous ones at the hospital. They could all feel it. It was pouring outside, and the workers slowly trudged inside, dreading the next seven hours of taking care of screaming patients, or tiresome paperwork. It wasn't a friendly place, the hospital. It was depressing, and reeked of death. The workers there were lazy and didn't give a damn about the condition of their patients. The only thing they cared about was finishing the day, and getting their pay. Except for a few nurses. The nurses loved it there. They were a group of three, and they took the best care of the patients. At the end of the day, they would leave together, arms linked, whispering about how their day went. They were the quiet ones, they kept the hospital from falling completely apart. The were the rock of this crumbling foundation. They took turns watching Alice, since no one else dared. The first nurse, Amber, was a petite brunette with big brown eyes. Today was her day with Alice. She quietly walked into the room with a book, and Alice's breakfast.
"Hi Alice." She smiled down at the poor girl, and offered her a bit of food. Alice refused. These past days have been horrible for her, she doesnt eat, and she refuses to talk. She stares out the small window she was provided with. The bars over it making it hard for her to get any sunlight in the already dark room. Alice blanced at the nurse with no emotion showing on her pale face. She turned back to looking out the window and the nurse sat down in the chair next to the bed. She pulled out a book, and started reading chapter 5. It was what she did every time she was with Alice.

As the nurse was reading, Alice was thinking about Kid. She missed him so much, but felt stupid for even thinking about him when she didnt know if he was thinkign about her. All that ran through her mind was, Is he ever gonna come for me? Is he ever gonna be in my arms again? Does he even love me? Her thoughts, her mind, She was tearing herself apart bit by bit and she didn't know if anything except Kid could fix her. It was like this on again off again hope that he'll come back. She didnt wanna get her hopes up too high, but at the same time she wanted him, and maybe wanting him would do good. Give herself something to hold onto. Alice turned her head so she was looking at the nurses face. She took a deep breath, and tried to say something. She didn't know what. She just wanted to see if she was still capable of it.

A shakey
"Help.." Came out and the nurse Looked up, mouth open in shock and brows furrowed. But she got up and gave Alice the water. Alice drank it all.
''It hurts." She said. Her voice was weak, and distant. And it hurt her stomach to try to talk. She moved her hands up, and grabbed the nurses. The nurse had a pen and notepad sitting at the desk. Alice pointed to them and the nurse gave them to her.
Alice wrote, It hurts to talk, why does it hurt? Everything hurts..

The nurse did what she was supposed to do and paged the main doctor there. Alice knew what was going on and looked at her with tears in her eyes. She was afraid. She didn't want more people, she wasnt used to people. She just wanted to burrow under her covers and sleep. She wanted to feel comfort again and that would be with Kid. The doctor opened the door, and Alice looked at the nurse with complete betrayel written all over her face. She shook her head and went back to doing what she always did. Stare out the window.

The nurse left, as was instructed and the doctor put Alice to sleep.
