They stayed at their place in the forest for a while because it was peaceful, and they had resources enough to last them more than a night, but as soon as the sun rose on the second morning, Alice woke Kid up and insisted that they go. It had been a few days since either of them took a shower, or brushed their teeth and they were both running out of clean clothes. Alice wanted to turn back, and go to the home she grew up in to get more of her own clothes, but Kid didn't like the sound of that. He turned her around in a different direction with the promise of new clothes.

It seemed as if neither of them had any idea where they were or where they were going, but they kept walking down desolate roads that seemed to wind on forever. There was little words exchanged between them, but the silence was not uncomfortable, although Kid had developed an attitude that left him deep in thought.

Along the way something changed, and Alice began to recognize their surroundings. She ran to catch up with Kid and tugged on his sleeve.
"I know where we are." She said in a quiet voice, and Kid looked at her in shock for a few seconds before asking how.
"We're close to my house. The place we were going to remember?"
Kid took a second to look around, and sighed in desperation once he realized that, yes, they were extremely close to her home. This was not his intention but he would not let Alice know this. He had messed up the directions on trying to lead her as far away from her home as he could.

They walked for a few more hours before reaching the end of her block.
"I think I'll wait here for you, okay?" Kid looked slightly concerned, but Alice didn't take it into any thought.
"I"ll be right out." She smiled up at him, and walked back to her house, ignoring the feeling of anxiety in her stomach.
As soon as she reached her neighbors house, a man stepped out of a dark car parked in front of her house, and approached her.
"Are you Alice?" He asked, almost as if he was just asking her for the hell of it. Like he already knew exactly who she was.
"Um." Alice stuttered out, and turned around to run but the man grabbed a hold of her arm and pulled her back.
"You are Alice, are you not? Your father lives in this house?" He pointed at her house and then corrected himself.
"Or did?"
She nodded, as there was nothing  she could do at this point. His big hand was squeezing her arm, which had grown smaller in size since she had left her home.
"I'm going to have to take you with me, miss." He pulled her towards the car and her body went limp for a second. Then out of nowhere she started struggling and screaming for help.
He tore open the door, and shoved her inside. Alice bit his hand as he closed the door, but it was no use.
She was locked inside his car, and Kid was nowhere to be seen.
"You will answer all of my questions. If you don't cooperate, I"ll force you to." He said, as he got into his side of the car and turned on the engine.
