Months had gone by and still no one spoke to her about what had happened with Kid's body. But Alice had decided to play along with the doctors as if she was okay. She had lost the love of her life, what did they expect? They expected smiles and promises of moving on and that's what she gave them. She would go to bed every single night with tears rolling down her frail cheeks, even the lies of saying she was over him broke her heart.
But her discharge date was coming up, and she knew she had to get out of that hospital. Such a long time in the same place, as Kid had always warned her to not do. She needed him to know that even if he was gone she still had respect for the journey they had been on together.
