I took a deep breath and exited my building. I walked over to him trying to control my nervousness that was taking over my body. Play it cool. That's all I had to do. I walked up.

"Ready?"

"Ah, yep."

He opened the door and I got in. Then he closed it and made his way to the driver side. Once inside and buckled, he drove us to a restaurant. I got out of the car and looked up. Whoa.

I felt severely underdressed.

"Relax." He chuckled. Easy for him to say. I looked at what I was wearing. It was what I wore earlier. A skirt and top with black tights.

"They have really good food," he reassured me. Yeah and probably a dress code.

As we walked inside I wrapped my arms around my midsection. I was so out of my element.

We walked inside and I could feel people staring.

"Ah! It's so good to see you again," the maitre'd said to C. "You're table is waiting." He showed us a table and then took my coat. He pulled out my chair and I took a seat as did C.

"You're waiter will be right with you," he smiled as he walked away.

I looked around. That was weird.

"What?"

"They didn't turn us away." I leaned towards him.

"No." He smiled.

"Why?"

He leaned towards me, "because they would lose a lot of money if they did."

"Oh."

The waiter brought us menus. I looked at the prices and my eyes widened. Holy schnitzels this was a lot of money.

"Something wrong?"

I looked up to see them staring at me.

"Ah, nope."

I scanned the menu and picked out the cheapest item. I didn't want to bankrupt C. I'm pretty sure he didn't make a lot of money.

He gave me a look, "Are you sure?"

"Yes."

C and the waiter looked at me like I had two heads. Then he said, "actually, bring the lady fettuccini Alfredo with shrimp."

"Oh, um."

"And I will have the steak, medium."

"Right away sir," the waiter said taking our menus and leaving.

"C, that is way too expensive," I protested.

"It's fine. I make enough."

I stared into his blue eyes and he looked into my green eyes. I didn't know what to say. Honestly. I didn't.

"Sera, I invited you out to dinner. It's okay." He reassured me.

I looked at him and gave him a soft smile.

The waiter returned with our food and I had to admit it was amazing. I ate most of it but couldn't finish it.

The waiter boxed up for me. Then C paid for our meals. We stood up and put our coats on. We walked out to the car and he opened my door for me. Once I was inside, he closed the door and went to the driver's side and got in.

He started the engine and pulled out. As we drove, I noticed we were going in a different direction than my apartment.

"Um, C, my apartment is back that way," I gestured behind me. He chuckles.
