The day after

The next day I returned to Mr. Thompson's house and when I opened the door, I dropped my purse and gasped. It was absolutely trashed. Some friends they are. I mean who does this?

I picked up my purse and went and hung my coat up. This was going to take me all day to clean up. No wonder he sent me all those flowers. I groaned inward at the thought.

I went into the kitchen and grabbed some trash bags so I could start. As I started cleaning I heard someone say, "need help?"

I turned and gave C a look, shaking my head, "that would be nice."

He walked over and started to help me clean up the mess Mr. Thompson and his "so-called" friends left behind.

"Now I can see why he sent so many flowers," I grumbled.

"Yeah, I guess he feels really guilty."

"Guilty?" I stopped and looked at him.

"Well, yeah. I mean not only did he fire you," he said through gritted teeth, "but a huge mess was left behind. I know I would feel extremely guilty if I did that sort of thing."

"But you wouldn't, would you?"

He looked at me, "no."

I let out a sigh of relief, "good, because that would be kind of terrible to be a big slob."

He chuckled, "yeah it would be."

As we cleaned the conversation turned to Mr. Thompson.

"So, what do you think of Mr. Thompson," he asked.

"Well, I thought he would be a lot different."

"How so?"

"I mean he's somewhat attractive."

"Oh."

"And he's not as friendly as I thought he would be."

"Okay."

"And he's kind of a pompous jerk."

"Okay I get it." He huffed.

I looked at him, "why are you getting upset about the truth?"

He looked at me, "right. The truth."

"C, look, Mr. Thompson is my employer but you," I placed my hand on the side of his face, "are important to me. You mean more to me."

He took his hand and covered it as he nestled his face into my hand, "I do?"

I tilted my head, "yes you do." I gave him a smile and well, he pulled me into a kiss, causing me to drop the garbage bag.

He reached down and wrapped his arms around my waist deepening the kiss. I couldn't help but fall into a daze as I let my arms dangle to the side. C's kisses were always amazing.

Then we heard someone clear their throat. He quickly stood up straight and let me go. We stood there, looking a little out of sorts as Joshua stood there grinning, "did I interrupt something?"

I looked at C who had lipstick smudged on his lips and he looked at me with my hair a little messy. Then we turned back to Joshua, "nope."

He chuckled, "uh huh sure." He walked over to us and looked at C, shaking his head as he chuckled even more. C shot him a glare hen turned to me, "excuse me. I must go hurt my brother now."

"Yep," I whispered as they both left the room.

I went back to cleaning as they went into the kitchen. Joshua took a seat at the counter while C went and grabbed a couple of mugs.
