It has been ten years since I answered the ad for an assistant that turned into being a housekeeper position. Since then, I met and fell in love with someone I never imagined falling in love with.

Even though Connor pretended to be someone else, he made me realize why. He didn't want to be treated any differently than anyone else which I totally get. He also was a broken person which I could relate to. Having been broken myself, helped.

He taught me not everything is as it seems and I taught him simple is better. It works for us.

Since then, we married and had not only one but six kids total. Yeah, Connor loved the idea of a big family. Me, I didn't like the idea of housing them for nine months. I didn't mind. Having a full house of laughter and love was totally worth it.

As for his artwork, he became a bonafide hit. Especially when he painted more about kids and families. He wanted to incorporate his life into his artwork.

He never let it take away from the things that mattered, us. To him, family was everything. To me, it was the only thing.

"Daddy, can we ride the ride," Emily asked jumping up and down excitedly.

"Yes but make sure you stay close to Sylvia," he advise her.

"Yes sir," she saluted him causing me to giggle.

He looked at me, "she gets that from you."

"Mom, I'm hungry," Henry groaned.

"Well, he gets that from you," I said with a look causing him to chuckle.

"Yeah I'm hungry too," Asher added.

"We need food," Marla added.

"But I'm want to ride the rides," Mason whined.

He looked at me, "it seems we have a split decision on our hands. What do you suggest Mrs. Thompson?"

"I suggest you wanted too many kids," I smirked.

He rolled his eyes.

"Okay, let's eat then we wait to ride some more rides," I said getting a collective cheer from everyone.

"Eeek," Emily yelled as she ran behind Connor's legs and gripped them, burying her head into them.

We looked then saw Mickey Mouse coming towards us, causing us to laugh. Poor Sylvia was still scared of people dressed in character costumes.

Connor had to coax her out to say hi to the head mouse. He crouched down and wrapped his arm around her as she looked at Mickey Mouse with big eyes.

"Daddy?" She whispered.

"Yes munchkin?"

"He's looking at me."

"That's because he thinks your adorable," he reassured her.

She looked at Mickey as we all watched and let go of Connor. She slowly walked over to him as he crouched down and waved.

Holding out her tiny hand, she said, "I'm Sylvia Thompson, Mr. Mouse."

He took her hand and gently shook it. She turned to Connor, "Daddy, he's not so scary after all."

"No munchkin, he isn't."

"Can we take him home?" She said innocently.

"On that note, let's get food," he said sweeping her off her feet.

As we went to get food, Sylvia rambled about Mickey Mouse as Connor carried her. The rest of the kids and I followed suit.

I never imagined my life would turn out this way but I'm glad it did. I got the one thing I always dreamed of, a family, all thanks to a simple ad.

The End

Thank you for reading this story. I loved writing it but like all good things, it must come to an end. Will there be a sequel? No. Connor and Sera's story is completed.

Sometimes the most unexpected love comes the least expected places. Never stop dreaming or loving. It's the love we all hope to have one day.

Much love
Angel
