Oh my aching body

I woke up the next day, aching all over. I looked over to see Connor gone. I decided to get up and use the bathroom only to slowly make my way there. Yeah I was pretty sore.

Then I heard laughing. I turned and glared at him as he walked towards me, chuckling and sweating. I made it into the bathroom finally and he started running a bath.

I looked at him as he said, "figure we could take a bath together."

"Okay but no unholy behavior. I'm really sore," I winced.

"No promises," he chuckled.

After using the bathroom, I climbed into the tub and slid down. This felt like heaven. Connor stripped down and climbed in behind me. He proceeded to wash me up which I had to admit was pure heaven. His touch was gentle yet firm.

I laid their enjoying being taken care of. What? Don't judge. Sometimes it's nice to be taken care of.

"So, did you do this a lot with Clarissa," I asked with curiosity. I know I shouldn't but I was curious about them.

"Nope. Even when things turned with us and we became an actual couple, there wasn't passion with her."

"Did you love her?"

"In a way but not the way most people want. Even with the fact she had an affair and it produced a child that didn't belong to me, I still loved her," he said with tension laced in his tone.

I turned and faced him, "you didn't know. Don't beat yourself up."

"I know but I feel like I've been taken for a fool," he said quietly. That bothered me. Connor was a good guy when he wasn't being a goober.

I leaned over and gave him a kiss, causing him to deepen it. Then things turned romantic between us. After prying Connor off of me which I could see could be a problem, I got out of the tub and wrapped a towel around me.

He quickly dried off and threw on some jeans and a tee shirt before leaving the bathroom. Then I heard the doorbell, making me hurry and dress.

I came downstairs to find Connor with some guy and him looking through a file. I walked over to them.

"Taylor this is Sera. Sera this is Taylor," he said to me.

I greeted him with a wave and he gave me a nod. I looked at the file then Connor said, "sonofabitch!"

I looked at him, "What's wrong?"

"Everything," he said as he turned and walked away.

I looked at Taylor, "I'm guessing he didn't like what he saw in that file."

"Not if you mean by embezzlement and lies. I would say so," Taylor responded. Well damn.

A few minutes later, Connor emerged and left with Taylor. Why did I have a feeling this was going to be bad? Very bad.

Connor and Taylor pulled up to his parents house. They got out and went inside of the house. The minute he saw Raymond, he hauled off and hit him.

"Connor," his mom exclaimed.

Connor looked at Raymond who was on the floor, rubbing his jaw, "mind telling me how the hell you fathered my child? Actually don't. I already know."

Ruth looked at Raymond, "what did you do?"

He looked at her.

"He fucked my wife and father my daughter. That's what he did," Connor said matter of fact.

Ruth looked at him shocked as Raymond sat there knowing he couldn't deny the truth. Gerald walked over and looked at him, "why?"

"Because I loved her but she was arranged to marry Connor. We decided to keep it quiet until Andrew found out. It was a matter of time before he ran to Connor, that weasel," he huffed.

"Wait, you call him a weasel yet you fucked Clarissa behind Connor's back and lied to him. Makes a whole lot of sense to me brother," Joshua said rolling his eyes.

"Wow, this is one for the books," Morgan added.

"You know what the best part of all this is? Should I tell them or you," he said to Raymond who looked at him with furrow brows.

"Tell us what," Gerald said looking at the both of them with hands on his hips.

"It seems little brother here also decided to get into things he shouldn't have."

"Such as," Gerald asked Connor.

"It seems Raymond helped Davis embezzle money from me besides screwing my wife," he told him flatly.

Raymond got up and looked at him, "I only took my fair share. If it wasn't for me, you would be nothing," he said emphatically.

"Really? You think just because you mentioned me to a few people gave you the right to steal from me?! On top of it you knew Davis knew who Sera was!" I barked.

"What?!" They all exclaimed.

"Yeah, I did some digging. Davis knew the Millers quite well. It seems he was one of their foster children when he was older. A lot older. He also tried to manhandled her until Roman came home from school," he told them.

They all looked at Connor and Raymond.

"See, this is your problem Connor. You think everything is so simple and should be done your way. You only made money because of me. You got someone that didn't even love you without it being arranged. The truth is if it wasn't for me, you would be nothing," he spat causing Joshua to hit him.

"Raymond you have a big mouth and sometimes you just need to shut the hell up. You took credit for stuff you had nothing to do with. Yeah if you want to consider adultery and embezzlement being important, then go ahead," Joshua rolled his eyes.

"I need to stay here and be attacked by my own damn family," he snarled.

"Good then get out," Gerald ordered.

"With pleasure," he huffed as he went to the door only to be met by the cops.

"Raymond Thompson, you are under arrest for embezzlement," they announced as they cuffed him then hauled him away.

"I need a drink," Ruth said as she walked away.

"I think I will join you dear," Gerald added.

"Damn, our own brother," Morgan sighed as she followed suit.

Joshua walked over to Connor, "I got to hand it to you C. When you go after someone, you go after them."

"Honestly, I don't care about the money. It's he principal of it all," he said simply.

"So, what now?"

"Take care of Davis and the Millers. Sera didn't deserve what happened to her. She was just a child that had an unfortunate situation," he reasoned.

"I got to say brother, she really has done something for you. It's good to see you happy for once."

"It feels good to be happy for once," he smiled.

I had a feeling things were about to get interesting. When you corner a caged animal they tend to fight back. Davis was a caged animal. What would happen next would prove to be just that.
