Dauntles Black Heart

"Emerald Stone" I jump alittle as Jeanine calls my name. I take in a deep breath then walk up to her and take the knife then cut my palm. I don't know what to do. Should I stay in abnegation or should I transfer to, my other test result, dauntless. I hold out my hand and close my eyes. I know now or at least I hope. Then I hear the sizzle of my blood hitting the coals. The yell and pound their fist. I go and stand next to my new faction.

I look back at my mother and father I expect to see a look of disappointment, but I see a smile on their faces. They seem... almost proud. When the choosing caramony is over the dauntless run throwgh the streets and on the train. When we jump onto the building I see im the only abnegation transfer. That not uncommon.

A man that addresses himself as Max says that we must jump in to the hole in the ground. Then a candor boy says "are you crazy, I knew it these people are trying to kill us!" Before Max could respond an erudite girl says, "this is illogical. "

I can see the eritation in Max's face. "Well if you two are done talking I will continue. " there is a pause that lasted only four seconds then he continues "are there any volunteers?" nobody volunteers "well how about you?" he point to the candor boy. Candor boy takes a steps back. I stand in the back and take a I step forward everyone part out of the way. I jump it feels as if im flying, then I hit a net hard.

A tall man with dark hair and a blond girl help me up. The girl asked me what my name is. I tell her it's Emerald then she turns to the man and says "make the announcement Four" the man then yells "first jumper Emerald"

The crowd of dauntless go crazy screaming, hollering, pounding their fist. After the rest of the initiates jump I look around and see that there are 11 transfers. 6 from Candor 4 from Erudite and 1 from Abnegation.

Then the man that helped me get out the net says "alright listen up I'm Four and this is Six and we will be the instructors for the transfers." Then the Candor boy says "wait like the numbers? That's so stupid." Then the Six turns around and barks "if I wanted I wanted to candor loud mouth I would've joined the faction." Then Four and Six give us a tour the pit. Then they show us the chasm. I instantly fall in love with it. The frantic water and the noise it makes.

When we eat I sit by myself at a table. It looks like the other transfers become friends. Now they point and laugh at me. I sit there and just look at my food, I'm not hungry. Then Four and Six come sit by me I jump a little, startled. "Have you ever seen a hamburger stiff?" Six asks. I don't answer I just I just put my head down. They get up and go and sit back down with their friends leaving me all alone.

I empty my tray I go straight to the chasm. I sit down and hang my feet over the edge holding on to the bars. I get lost in thought that happens a lot with me. I don't know how long I sat there but when I look up I see it's 7:50 and I have and I make a run for the dormitory. I get up and run into someone. He has dark hair he's tall and muscular. "Hey watch where you're- Oh hi my name is Thomas. What's yours?" Don't say anything I just keep running all I know is that I have to get the dormitory. But I look back anyway he has a goofy smile on his face.

I set on my bed and think about Thomas and how stupid I was. I don't even tell him my name. He's 5 inches taller than me, maybe only a year or two older. And I'm a sucker for dark brown hair and green eyes. No stop it I think to myself. He most likely has a girlfriend or if he doesn't I messed up my chances with him. Then I lay down and try to fall a sleep.

That next morning I get up before the others. I decide to go get some new cloths for my new faction although I hate shopping. When I walk into one of the stores I head toward the dark jeans and black tee shirts. Then a dark skin girl comes up to me and says "you know what would really look good on you? Come on I will help you. Oh try this on." She hands me some cloths. "Oh and by the way my name is Christina." I get a pair of jeans and a shirt that Christina said would look good on me. I look at the clock and I have 30 minutes until training starts. I know that I'm not going back to the dormitory yet.

I find my self at the chasm I don't remember deciding and walking there. I hang my feet over the edge again. For me the I find the rushing water calming. I think this is my favorite place in dauntless, maybe the whole city. I get lost in thought. When I come out of the daze I was in I realize I have 5 minutes until training. I jump up and run. Then smack. I look you and see that Thomas and I ran into each other again. "Hey I never got your name." He says as I run away. All I can think is I can't be late. I heard that there are horrible consequences.
