Summary: Considering how most of them lived the Survey corps Veterans didn't have much time to sit down and worry about puberty. And those who did worry about it at first moved on to bigger priorities.
Levi
To most of everybody he was a mystery, he came from the underground her was a Thug that all anybody knew anything else. Growing up Levi didn't have much of anything and by the age of 13 Levi was abandoned and left to fend for himself. But that was okay he knew how to. He didn't have time to worry about pimples or his growth spurts or cracking voice, actually, when his voice began to go through that change Levi talked less not wanting to risk cracking in front of people he was trying to intimate. Survive was key down in the underground and puberty was no something he actually focused on.
Oh, he grew somewhat good news. Oh. no pimples right on man. Voice isn't cracking it's a miracle. Things like that never even crossed his mind. And he didn't even notice any changes unless someone pointed it out.
Farlan was laughing hilariously as he rolls cross the floor holding his stomach and pointed at Levi "what is it?" Levi asked very annoyed Farlan had been laughing for 15 minutes now.
"your aaahhahahahahahah your voice oh my go hahahahahaha I can't" Farlan couldn't even breath.
Levi rolled his eyes and got up from the couch, of course, that's why he's laughing even it wasn't Levi's voice it was his face and facial hair or the fact he was in his late teens and had yet to develop any facial hair at all.
All though Levi did not appreciate the laughter and the pointing he smiled his brother was happy and that was okay.
It was puberty there was nothing Levi could do about it, unfortunately, his mind aged faster than his body, he'd have to wait for his body to grow. For his voice to become deep and Steady, his face to become manly and hairy, and his body to become to become tall and muscular. Unfortunately for him, only two out of those three things would happen.
Erwin
He wasn't the same as he was before over time he changed he lied he fought. At the young ripe age of a teen, he very curious and didn't trust many. He didn't trust the government as a child. he wonders why no one remembers anything about life beyond the walls life before the wall. His father gave him theories which he then past on to his friends, later on, his father mysteriously died. Later on in life he would stop sharing his theory.
Erwin was another one to not worry about puberty when he became of age the first thing he did was enlisted in the military. Though he did notice when he had a growth spurt it was hard not to notice he was towering over everybody now. Like Levi, his priorities were elsewhere he was more concerned about his goals and outside the walls than his cracking voice and pimple face.
"come on man lost in thought again. You know that girl is looking at you" Nile Shook Erwin from his thoughts. He never knew when girls paid attention to him mainly he never paid attention to them they weren't on his main priority list.
"Are you sure she's looking at me she might be looking at you?" Erwin asked not even looking up as he took another swig of his drink. Alcohol was the only thing he could truly trust.
"Nah pal I'm 100 percent sure she's looking at you" rolling us eyes Erwin looked up she was indeed looking at him. Smiling Erwin gave her a wave.Sure females, marriage, kids, and family wasn't something in his future but he was a growing boy sure he could slick back his hair and enjoy the young years. He might be dead tomorrow.
Hanji
(sorry she doesn't really have much of a backstory I'm making some of this up)
Both her parents were soldier both part of the survey crops when they left for expedition she was usually left with her grandmother. One expedition they didn't return she was a little girl at the time but knew what really happen no matter how many lies her grandmother told her.
Hanji was very worried about puberty, in the beginning, she was very insecure she worried about her voice, her face, her skills, her ... everything. She had a very resentful heart in the beginning. She practiced and trained her skills nonstop she had to be perfect she had to survive. Her hair was cut perfectly not too long not to short, uniform perfected not a piece of lint or hair to be found, gear shining steel in the light. Everything of her was organized and cleaned.
Until that day that day, she kicked a Titan's head it was so lightweight. it changed her world. Her Resentful heart and insecurities flew out the window her personality did a 360. She was an unorganized, irrational, very energetic bookworm. She became very outside the box.
"Hanji, you should get to bed it's pretty late," Hanji's friend said once again she found Hanji in the library between a stack of books this had for some reason become the normal it started a few weeks ago after their last expedition every night since the night of her return Hanji had spent in the library.
"It a minute" Hanji waved her off " one more page," she said
"you know I hear those who don't at least 4 hours of sleep progress and develop poorly and get more acne"
"Okay, it's time for bed" though Hanji did put most of her insecurities behind her she was not going to play with acne.
Mike
Awkward, that is the only way I could describe or even imagine his teen years. With his smelling habit, I can conclude his childhood was mostly spent around and with animals. I can most definitely say he had a dog in his earlier years. In his teen years, Mike was probably insecure didn't have many friends before the survey crop nor did he talk a lot.
He always made himself clean and look approachable. Face shaved, haircut brushed and parted, shirt buttoned and tucked, breath good everything. But it was still difficult to make friends especially with his bad habit of smelling people and the fact he didn't talk much. He was very alone in the beginning. Then she appeared.
"Hi, can I sit here," a little brunette with glasses asked Mike nodded his head. Smiling the female took a seat
"I'm Hanji," she said holding out her hand he took her handed and smelled it
"Mike," he said once he was done smelling her. If the smelling didn't startle her the deep voice sure did.
"well nice to meet you, Mike. Why you do that you know smell me" Hanji asked though she didn't look like she was offended or scared, not even weirded out, she looked interested.
"um....you can learn a lot about people through their smell,"
"like what?"
"if they're lying or telling the truth, their emotions, and their inattentions. People's smell gives away a lot."
"what are my inattentions what do I smell like?" Hanji asked
"you don't mean any harm. You're like me.... you're just looking for a friend". And like that Mike made his first friend.
After a few expeditions just like Hanji Mike's insecurities flew out the window, it was all about survival saving humanity and getting rid of the Titans.
The veterans of the Survey corps didn't really have time to sit down and worry about puberty. Most of their childhoods were abnormal and tragic and a good majority of them were in the survey corps by 15 and fighting for survival. Puberty pimples and cracking voices weren't their main priority.
