Pairing: Bucky Barnes x Natasha / Tony Stark x reader

summary: Reader has the hanahaki disease but plays it off as a sickness part of her abilities with nature. Only Tony knows the truth.

(Y/n) sat by the counter as Bucky and Natasha giggled like teenage lovers on the couch. As she listens she felt a cough stir in her throat.

"Hey," Tony said he handed her a water bottle helping her out "want to get out for lunch" he suggested trying to get her out of the tower. She agreed.

(y/n) (L/n) born a mutant her abilities didn't kick in until her mid-teens and when they did her longtime friend Tony Stark was there to help. (y/n) had the ability to control plants as well as sprout them from her skin and hair. To Tony (y/n) was an endless supply of weed at one point. (y/n) and Tony were good friends but there were a few time gaps in their friendship but whenever they come together it was like they never left.

During both the war on Manhattan and soviet Tony called her up and she secretly helped. During Civil War, she declined him and he didn't blame her. After the battle and everyone was good again Tony offered her a job as an official Avenger she agreed and moved into the tower within the same hour. Everyone immediately loved (y/n) and she took a liking to Bucky Barnes. Tony didn't like that.

In High School, you fell in love with a boy in her class that constantly cheated on her. When things got really bad she started coughing and throwing up flower petals. It took (y/n) a long time to rise out of love but in the end, she did. The scariest things Tony ever experienced, yes even scarier than flying into space with a nuke. And now it was happening all over again but ... worse. He saw it on the first day she came she gave Bucky the same look she gave to the boy in high school.

At first, he was all for it her and Bucky were like glue then he started seeing changes in his behavior towards Natasha and Tony tried to snap (y/n) out of it but it was too late. Bucky and Natasha announced their relationship and snapped (y/n)'s little heart in two. But being the little angel she was she let the two be let them while she suffered. She didn't interfere.

"So I was thinking maybe you and I could go out to dinner Saturday night," Tony said as the two walked in the park eating hot dogs

"I thought the team was going clubbing Friday"

"they'll do that and we'll go to dinner"

"Tony you're the one that begged everyone to go clubbing"

"and they'll go just without us" (Y/n) rolled her eyes but agreed to dinner.

"what do you think?" (y/n) did twirl for Tony showing off the dress which Pepper and Wanda had bought her, Bruce along with them were the only ones who know about her condition.

"You look... hideous" Tony said but couldn't keep a straight face to go with his lie. (y/n) playfully punched him as she looked in the mirror.with a pair of matching. "But seriously ... you should wear a paper bag to cover that. I want to keep my food down at dinner."

"screw you too Tony"

"I'm kidding, I'm kidding" Tony took both her hands in his "you look beautiful. Like an angel... risen from hell" (y/n) sighed and decided that this was the best compliment she was going to get tonight

The two plan to leave before anyone else and just have J.A.R.V.I.S tell everyone they left. (y/n) didn't want the team to see them and ask questions that would lead to assumptions and rumors. And Tony didn't want (y/n) to see Bucky and Natasha together she had been healthy all week no coughing fits or flower vomit and he didn't want to end that streak. Thought he could make her so happy she'd completely forgot about Barnes, the actual possibility of that happening was 12%.
