Furry Sidekick (Levi x reader)

Warning: language, panic attack, fluff

Summary: Readers first Expedition is coming up and she's having a mental break down. Captain Sass and his secret sidekick come to the rescue.

She was literally vibrating one toe away from a mental break down. (y/n) (l/n) was a fresh member of The Survey Crops on Levi's special squad. She had willingly joined the fight against Titans along with her best friend along time ago. But during the attack on the Trost District (y/n) lost her best friend along with her battle confidences. Her bestfriend was no longer there to gently tell to 'suck it up and fuck it up'.

No one was there to tell her that everything was going to be okay. That death didn't want her and would most likely send her back if she did die. That they weren't going to let her die. That she wasn't going to die until she was old wrinkly with four kids and 12 grandchildren sitting on the porch with a cup of tea.

Now was her to tell her that and she was breaking.

Two more days until the expedition. (y/n) found herself alone in the tower having an anxiety attack on the floor as everyone else was finishing dinner and heading to bed. Everyone was having a peaceful dream catching sleep while (y/n) was falling apart alone.

"what are you doing, Brat"

(y/n) looked up to find Levi towering over her with a stern look, this was defiantly a first. (y/n) didn't know what to say she didn't know how to speak she just stuttered and held her hands up.

Levi sighed this wasn't his first time seeing a new recruit have a break down . Usually he'd send one of their friends to them to take care of them or leave them maybe offer some tea if he felt nice. Levi wasn't a very good counselor. But this was (y/n) and it was an entirely different case. This was the so called counselor Levi actually recommended Soldiers to talk to. He never thought he would finder her like this.

She was always so light hearted and trying to help everybody in their time of need. Her she was in her time of need and no one was helping her.

Levi gently picked her up as she clung to him like a child desperate for comfort. Levi carried her to his room and gently laid her on his bed. She was in some kind of daze. Hyperventilating, crying and looking around the room as if she couldn't see it. Levi didn't know what to do so he called an Expert.

"she's having a panic attack" Hanji said as if it was obvious as she didn't touch her but looked at her and just knew.

"so what do we do?"

"what do you mean what do we do you have the perfect solution in hiding"

"what???"

"you know what I mean."

" 'tch', no, no, no"

"yes, yes, yes. Or she is going to wither like that until she passes out. Handle it" Hanji said the walked right out the door.

"Fuck" Levi sighed as he walked over to his closet for the so called solution. No one knew about it not even Erwin he would have had a fit if he knew.

(y/n) slowly began to calm down as she felt something soft brush and walk all over her skin. The dizziness finally went down as she heard something purr in her ear. Opening her eyes she found a small black kitten purring on her chest. Sitting up she took the kitten in her arms and ran her fingers through it's fur.

"Her name is Night" (y/n) looks up to see Levi sitting across from her " I found her a last year in an alley decided to keep her. She helps me... Hanji said she'd help you"

"She did. Thank you" (y/n) said smiling up at Levi as she pet Night.

"I know why you were having a panic attack. Why didn't you talk to someone?"

"what so I could freak them out to with my problems. Everyone is dealing with stuff now. I don't need to make anyone's load heavier."

Levi looked at her he understood. He didn't tell anyone his problems, well maybe Hanji on a few occasions but still.

"Night is a very good listener. I'm sure she'd love to listen to you. God know she's tired of listening to me." Levi stood up "I'll leave you two to talk. I've got paper work take your time. " (y/n) giggled as Levi back out of the room he was trying to be funny this was defiantly a first.

"Thank you Captain"

"no problem"

Later on in the night when Levi had finally made a dent in his paperwork he finally decided to make his way to bed. He had actually forgotten (y/n) was in his bed. Walking in the room he was a bit shocked before he remembered.

(y/n) was underneath his blankets with Night curled up in her neck.

" 'tch' this Brat fell asleep in my bed" He says to himself "you're lucky I don't hate you" He slowly crawls into bed with her and pulled her a little close with Night in between them.

Who would have that his furry little sidekick would have let him get this close to his crush.
