Summary: A cadet slips up and calls Levi dad but he doesn't mind and cadet continues to call him this. Who would have this would have been his last words the last name he called

He was drunk and it was just him and Captain Levi he didn't really have impulse control he was too drunk to care and it just slipped out. Levi didn't say anything about it just smirked at the young boy and let him continue on rambling. It wasn't until the next day that he mentioned it at breakfast time.

"good morning Captain" (y/n) said as they were the first to arrive his hangover woke him up, "I thought I was Daddy," Levi said smirking at his own joke "I mean if you want to be" okay so that backfired.

After that, it became a private running joke between the two. When no one was around (Y/n) would constantly call him daddy to annoy him.

" hey daddy wants some more tea"

"Hey daddy I finished my chorus"

"Hey daddy I finished the paperwork"

"Hey daddy, hey daddy, hey daddy, hey daddy".

God, it pissed Levi off beyond believe he actually ran out of punishments to give the boy. After a while, Levi gave up and let him do him he didn't even care anymore. After a while (y/n) went from calling him daddy to dad it became the norm for them to the point (y/n) actually slipped and said it in front of the rest of the squad.

It was after dinner and everyone was having tea and talking when (y/n) walked in. "Dad Commander Erwin wants you" the room went silent you could hear a pin drop, Levi nor (y/n) notice the silenced. Levi left the room unfazed and (y/n) sat down and got some tea. "what?" (y/n) asked noticing everyone looking at him Petra was the first to speak

"you called Captain Dead" she stated then (y/n) blushed a scarlet red as everyone busted out laughing

"aw it's okay when daddy comes back he'll make you feel better" Oluo teased.

It was enough to say it didn't go away for a very long time but after a while again they were unfazed. It also didn't help that (y/n) was the youngest on the team. Once again it became the norm to hear (y/n) call Levi dad no one said anything about it because it was just their thing.

Levi actually enjoys hearing (y/n) call him dad he knew he probably wouldn't have kids of his own and to hear it at least from someone he considers his responsibility and cared about gave him warming. But he didn't enjoy hearing it the last time the last time heard it, it was painful and haunted him for the rest of his life.

Their bodies were scattered lifeless and alone. They were all so far apart and alone. He took his time seeing each and everybody one them. Looking at each and every one of them his stone cold heart broke more and more but it shattered when he saw him. His young face so pure and innocent yet dripping in red. He was still alive Levi swung down.

"(y/n)" he said as he took the boys hand his legs and stomach were bleeding "it's okay I'm going to get you out of here, it's okay"

"C-captain she took Eren... she took Eren that way. You got save Eren" he strutted and cough up blood

"I'm going to stay with you I'm going to help you just hold on I'll get you out of here I'll-"

"Dad... please, you've got to save him you've got to. I'll be fine I'll be here when you get back just go" Levi hesitated but with one last squeeze he was gone

"I'll be back son and we'll go home"

They didn't go home (y/n) died there alone ...just like the others. His last words were " I'm sorry dad I'm so sorry" as a single tear slide down his face "I'm so....Dad". When Levi returned there was a single tear sliding down his face and no heartbeat.

Letting out a heartbreaking cry Levi didn't shed any tears he had none left he had already given them to the many soldiers before him, oh how he wishes he had some for (y/n). So young, the bravest and brightest shoulder at the age of 16 he died too young, just like everyone else.

Levi cried as he held (y/n) close not caring for the blood that soaked his shirt but the boy in his arms they boy he had claimed as his own. When he felt he had nothing left he had this boy. His boy.

"I'm so sorry I'm so so sorry"

He died alone and cold he shouldn't have died alone and cold he should have had someone by his side he should have had someone hold him. Levi should have stayed by his side Levi should have held him he shouldn't have been cold he was so young he shouldn't have been here.

"I'm so sorry (y/n) please I'm so sorry I-I-I (y/n)"

In the end, Hanji found Levi and had to physically drag him away from (y/n) body it was the most heart-wrenching scene she ever saw. She cried as she held Levi away from his body as he cried out

"My son My son please no my son"
