What if (Draco Malfoy x reader)

Warning: suicidal thoughts, attempted suicide, sadness, Draco crying

Summary: She was Harry Potter's twin sister but she didn't get as much attention as her brother. Actually, she didn't get any attention. This leads to her thinking "what if".

Once again Harry Potter had saved the day but of course, the assistance of his twin sister went unnoticed, as usual. Harry Potter was the boy who lived and she was just the unexpected child, the invisible child, the troubled yet cowardly niece. No one noticed her, no one ever would. And that got (y/n) thinking some not so good thoughts.

Sitting in the Astronomy Tower looking at the stars... alone. She thought:

What if I was a full muggle, no magic? would aunt and uncle treat me better? What if I was born into a different family? would I be treated differently? What if I was born before Harry ? would I have my own title? What if I died with my parent would anyone remember me then? would I be significant in death?

(y/n) stood up from where she sat on the floor and walked forward.

What if Harry was born an only child would his life still be the same? would it be filled with tragic, friends, and fam?

She stood on the edge of the tower.

What if was never born? would everything still be tragic?

she closed her eyes.

what if I fell would anyone catch me?

she took a deep breath.

"what if I die here? would anyone notice me?"

she leaned forward.

She expected to feel nothing beneath her feet. She expected to feel the wind in her hair, weightless like a bird. She expected a free fall that would end in an instant. She expects no pain.

She did not expect to be dangling over the edge of the Astronomy Tower by her wrist. She did not expect to live. She did not expect to have a savior. She did not expect her savior to be Draco Malfoy.

Pulling her up and for into the tower, Draco pulled (y/n) into his chest hugging her tight. She didn't understand he was breathing heavily and erratically she could hear and feel his heart pounding against his chest. And she felt something wet on top of her head.

"I-If you die I'd notice. If you left right now I'd notice. I-I have always noticed you... I've noticed you since day one. My e-eyes have been on you since Dragon Alley.

I remember that day every last detail. You wore jeans, a plain purple shirt, and a jacket your hair was down it was on your shoulders back then. You bumped into me and apologizes a thousand times before your brother pulled you away... I watch you from afar, I wished to be next to you, I-" Draco sobbed and held her tighter the top of her head was wetter. unknowingly to (y/n), her own tears began to fall." If you died right now I'd noticed you'd break my heart... I-I don't think I c-could live knowing ... you're not here- you're not here. Oh god, if you weren't here - if you weren't here - if you weren't here" Draco sobbed as he spoke (y/n) never thought that she'd see the dad Draco cried never had she believed he'd cry for her. She never thought anyone would cry for her.

"I'm sorry, I'm sorry, I'm so sorry, please I'm so sorry " (y/n) cried as she hugged Draco back and squeezed him tight. They held each other tight. They could feel and hear each other's heartbeat.

"Please don't go Please- please stay, stay, I'll take care of you I'll love you just please stay please"

"Okay, okay, okay, I'll stay I'm sorry I'll stay I promise I'll stay".

The rest of the night the two stayed together in each other. They woke in the early morning it wasn't awkward but nice, calm, relaxing. They watched the sunrise together, well (y/n) watched the sunrise Draco watched her.

" we have to get" (y/n) said standing Draco stood as well "can I do one more thing before we go". (y/n) was curious what more could he do he already saved her. Gently their lips connected it all seemed so fast yet slow Draco wrapped his arms around her was and she put her hands in his hair.

Draco smiled "I've... I've been waiting a long time to do that."

From that day forward Draco Malfoy and (y/n) Potter would date, then marry, then have kids.

She 'd never think what if again.
