Elias's Pov-
Hi, my name is Elias, and I'm deaf. I've been deaf my whole life but I don't let that stop me. I'm not really the richest person, so I couldn't afford hearing aids. But today, my life changed.
"Are you ready to go to your surprise location" My boyfriend Chance signed as I got up from my couch and nodded my head.
Today I was turning 20 and Chance said he had something special for me. We got in the car and I just sat there thinking to myself how great of a person Chance is. When we first met, he didn't know sign language, but once we started dating, he promised me he would learn. He did. Now we can have a conversation.
"We are here now, but I want you to put this over your eyes" He signed referring to the beanie in his hands. I nodded my head. He placed the beanie over my eyes.
He got out of the car and he walked over to my side and helped me out. He helped me walk into the place he was taking me.
The beanie was pulled off of my head. I looked around and saw that we were in a hearing aid store. I turned to him and smiled.
"You don't have to do this for me" I signed as he smiled and pointed to a guys behind me. He reached his arm out, I took it and he took me to the back of the store so I could get fitted for my hearing aids. Chance was with me through the whole thing.
It was about an hour until they got my hearing aids ready. The man came back with two hearing aids. He handed them to me and I put them on. I turned the volume up and I smiled.
"Do they work?" Chance asked me as I smiled and tears started to fall out of me eyes.
I shook my head yes. I got up and wrapped my arms around him.
"I can hear you," I said as I pulled out of his hug and kissed his nose. He smiled and kissed my lips.
"I love you so much," He said. That was the first time I heard him say that. He always signed it to me but, it means a lot more when it comes out of his mouth.
"I love you too."
