Info:Continuation of Daughter? In which Lucy decides she can't handle this and runs away. But a certain bat finds her first.-
<<<Lucy's P.O.V>>>
My mind was racing as I watched him before me. No words would form in my mouth as I reached my hand out to his shoulder, to comfort him but my body stopped me from doing so. My palm rested by my side, I was frozen. No words were coming out and I couldn't think properly. How could he be lied to like this?! It just wasn't fair! I could feel the wet tears trickle down my neck as I couldn't prevent my emotions from taking over.
Suddenly my legs began to guide me to the door as I soon found myself sprinting for the closed door. The sound of my light footsteps could be heard but the Joker had no reaction. I pulled open the door, and ran towards the stairs, frantically wiping my eyes with my arms as I choked on my sobs.
Why would my own mother lie to him like this? I couldn't bare to see it. I couldn't bare to see her, after witnessing that. I scampered towards the door, shoving it open with the palms of my hands as I darted out into the freezing, Winter air of Gotham. The harsh winds bit at my ears and nose as I used my arms to cover my body as best as possible in my light pj's.
I had no clue where I was going but I just knew I had to get out of there. Out of this stupid fucking city! Harley told me he would react negatively to my birth and my existence but she lied! I just couldn't take another adult lying to me. My other mother (Harley's sister) is always lying to me about how Harley is too busy to let me stay over. Yeah I know, she's too busy stripping and killing people to see her own daughter!
Before my thoughts became any angrier I could hear the quiet hum of an engine beside me. I looked over my shoulder to see the sleek, armoured batmobile. Just my luck. I huffed and pretended like I didn't see it, while I kept on trudging along the path.
Suddenly a tall figure swooped in front of me, landing with a thud on the ground. His eyes were cold and his mouth showed no emotion. This was my first encounter with the famous Batman and I wasn't too impressed. He looked like a pretty normal guy to me, what's so special about him?
"Go away." I grumbled, beginning to walk past him when an arm was held out in front of me.
"What are you doing out here?" He asked suspiciously.
Jesus he's like some pedophile. Does he always go around asking young girls why they're outside? Should I be running for my life right now? "None of your business." I snapped irritated by him.
"I saw you with Angelica Quinzel."
Oh so now he's a stalker? "So?" I mutter glaring at him.
"Who are you and why are you with them?" He questioned stepping closer to me with his arms crossed.
He looked like an angry parent when their child forgets to say 'thank you'. "With who?" I ask innocently.
"The Joker and Harley Quinn." I could hear the rubber around his gloves flex as his fists clenched while he spoke.
"Well if you really need to know I'm Lucy Quinn." I blurt out, dropping the whole innocent act and getting fed up with his pestering.
"No, she died 15 years ago." He growled defiantly.
"Well then I guess I was raised from the dead." I roll my eyes.
"She was killed by the Joker himself."
"No I wasn't!" I screamed, the anger seeping through my body as my arms shook.
"I saw it with my own eyes. He punched her in the stomach during an angry outburst and instantly killed... you?" He explained which confused me.
"Then how am I standing right in front of you?" I wondered genuinely confused at the situation.
He looked equally baffled, trying to figure it out. "Where are they right now?" He suddenly asked, catching me slightly off guard in my thoughts.
"I-I can't say." I stutter. I can't tell him about the club and where they live! I'd be murdered on the spot.
"Lucy!" I heard the shriek of a feminine voice, followed by rapidly approaching footsteps. "Why the hell are you out here?" They gasped, standing in front of me and embracing me.
"Quinn what did you do." Batman interrupted as Harley held onto me tightly.
"Yeah, what did you do mom?" I asked still heartbroken.
"Ok just let me explain," She held her hands up defensively, clearing her throat before speaking. "After Puddin's small outburst, I thought Lucy had died. So while I was in the hospital they told me she would probably make it, but just about," I could see her eyes begin to glaze over while she told the story. "So I bribed them to lie. They told everyone she died, including you," she gestured to Batman who stood listening silently. "A-and Puddin'. But he was in denial. He didn't think he killed her, and he was right. But I was too scared to tell him the truth. This life is not right for a child!" She began to cry. "He thinks you took her away to be adopted." Harley pointed to Batman.
I was absolutely shocked! How come she never told me?
Batman stood silent for a few more minutes. Registering all the information he was just told. "I'm going to have to take you in." He snapped open a pair of handcuffs and approached Harley.
Suddenly my opinion changed as I saw my mother about to be arrested and brought to God knows where. I jumped in between them, glaring. "At least let me have one more night with my mom." I pleaded, looking up at him.
I could see his eyes soften slightly, showing signs of sympathy for me. "I'll be back here in the morning at dawn." He stated before walking over to his car and jumping in. The next second he was off down the street. Presumingly to do his job and stop actual crimes from being committed.
"I'm so sorry Lucy," Harley apologised, tears now rolling down her cheeks as they sparkled under the bright street lamp. I could see her hands shake from where I was standing. "I should have told you the truth sooner." She admitted, casting her eyes down towards the ground.
"It's ok," I smiled, running up to her, giving her a painfully tight hug. She tangled her hands in my hair and gave me a reassuring squeeze. The moment was so calm and peaceful. I didn't want to go back to my Aunt. I wanted to stay with my real mother and father. "Please let me stay with you." I whispered into her shoulder as I could feel my eyes begin to sting.
I could hear Harley giggle through her tears. "You heard me, this life is not right for any child." She began to gently stroke my hair.
"Fine but I'll only leave if you promise me one thing." I spoke looking up at her as she stared down at me like I was the only person in the world. Which I felt like right now.
"And what's that?" She asked, brushing back my hair from my face.
"You have to tell him the truth.."
