The Joker slicked back his vibrant green hair, whilst fidgeting with his Visconti pen with the other hand. He was beginning to grow nervous about Harley's parents visiting. Even though he had just spoken to them almost a week ago, he couldn't stop thinking about it the whole week.
He kept asking the same questions over and over again in his head. What if Batman shows up? What if a henchman comes up to the club with a gun? What if Poison Ivy shows up? Or Harvey, or penguin, or anyone who could be considered a villain. He could make a list of all the worst things that could happen, and almost bet that one of them will happen.
So now here he was, eyes wide and dry as he stared blankly at the empty desk in front of him. Counting down the seconds that pass, each leading closer to the dreadful moment the Quinzels will walk through the door.
Harley wasn't making him feel any better either, she was panicking him with all these things that need to be done. Like, for example, having all the rooms cleaned, hiding all the guns around the club in their wardrobes, briefing the henchmen on what not to do when they arrive and most importantly, informing guests that the club will not be opening tonight, on Friday of all days.
Suddenly a loud knock from downstairs snapped him out of his thoughts. He sprung up from his desk, marching out of the room and towards the top of the large staircase, where he could see the double doors that stood between him and the Quinzels.
Harley had already slipped past him on the stairs, jumping in excitement as she held the biggest grin he had ever seen. She was dressed casually, a pair of black jeans with a red t-shirt.
But J decided to go for a more formal attire. He wore a blood-red shirt with black slacks. Along with his usual jet-black, polished Mezlan shoes. On his wrist he held a Rolex, along with an abundance of large rings on his fingers. But tonight his neck was free from his usual heavy chains. He wanted to look more respectful in front of the older couple.
Harley swung open the door, squealing as she pulled in both parents for a tight embrace. "It's so good to see you!" She exclaimed, pulling away as she beamed at the two.
"You too, dear." Mary returned with an equal amount of joy. Wrinkles began to form around her eyes, either due to how much she was smiling, or her old age.
J continued down the remaining steps, giving a small smile and nod of his head as a greeting to the two. They both smiled back before stepping further into the large club, leaving the one small suitcase between them at the door.
The clown trailed behind them, making sure to cautiously look out the door to ensure that no one had followed them, before locking it shut.
"I was not expecting this." George commented, gazing in awe at the rather luxurious club, with white leather booths, unlit candles at every table and also, much to the parents' dislike, dancing poles.
The Joker nodded his head, hands on his hips as he too stared at the neatly positioned tables and chairs, "Used to be a dog fighting ring, I bought it for a very generous price." He falsely informed, but had actually just killed the owner and claimed the building which had grown neglected, but the dog fighting was true.
"Well why don't we sit down? Frosty can take your coats." Harley offered, motioning to the closest booth.
A bearded man stepped out from behind the bar, smiling politely at the couple as he held out his hand. Mary grinned gratefully, removing her coat and handing it to the man.
