Chapter 17

I was lying in my roommate Min YoonJi's bed just doing nothing staring at the ceiling while she dries her hair with the hairdryer. It has been a few hours since I arrived at Daegu and greeted Min Yoongi's parents, ate dinner with them and I am here just lazing around after a long day.

"Do you want some midnight snacks?? I'm thinking of ordering fried chicken. You??" She asked as she puts down the hairdryer and touches her now dried hair.

"It's okay, I'm really full," I said, touching my tummy. Her parents cooked too much knowing that a girl would be here for a week and even prepared pink-colored stuff especially for me. "I had too much at dinner."

"That's my parents, they get so excited about the cooking as you were coming and even asked me what does a girl likes to eat. It is not like you are a different species and you are the first female guest that my brother brought home."

Now we are mentioning her brother, it is weird how the two are siblings where they don't even look alike nor communicated in school much. Yoon Ji doesn't even call him Oppa when she sees him in school and she has never mentioned of her having a sibling in the same school, in the same class.

"I want to know why Min Yoongi and you don't seem that close, you guys don't even eat together during lunchtime."

"We do, once in a while. It is just that we liked different things and our personality are different as well." She explained after calling the fried chicken place for delivery.

"Then why don't you say that he is your brother when we first met??" She froze on the spot, her eyes darting around the room, trying to come up with an excuse.

"YoonJi??" I called her to get her attention.

She went to lock her doors and windows before coming back to me looking pretty desperate. "I'm going to tell you one thing and you can't tell it to anyone else, not even Hazel nor JiNa."

What does she have to tell me that it is so secretive??

I just nodded, not knowing what she is going to tell me. "Do you know that Min Yoongi is actually 3 years older than you??" She said softly and I nodded.

My brother has told me before that he is 3 years older than me and there is a certain reason that he refused to tell me. I guess that she is talking about this.

"Is there any reason why??" I replied to her and she nodded.

"There is. He got into a car accident 3 years ago and lost all his memories." My mouth opened wide at the information that I had just heard.

Min Yoongi got into a car accident?? But he doesn't look like he has any problems with his body.

"I don't know the whole story but I know that he got knocked over by a car which a guy is behind it. Both of them were injured and sent to the hospital."

"So he lost his memories as a result??"

She sadly nodded. "When he woke up from the long coma, he didn't recognize any of us immediately. He was sad for a long time and was always talking about one certain person."

"Who??"

"Kwon DongWoo. I don't know who is he though but he told me that they were friends in the same high school before."

Kwon DongWoo, that name that he was using to lie to me. It wasn't just made up on the spot.

"Do you know where Kwon DongWoo is now??"

She shook her head. "He didn't come to visit once so I have never seen him before."

That makes more sense now that she explained part of it to me. Min Yoongi got into a car accident and thus were in a coma. He woke up sometime later and kept talking about some guy called Kwon DongWoo which he also uses to lie to me. He got into high school once again to complete his studies since he didn't finish his studies earlier in Daegu, that is why he is still in high school when he is supposed to be working.

"The fried chicken is here, I'll go get it." She said leaving the room to get the fried chicken while I just sat down on her bed, trying to take in what I have just known about Min Yoongi. He had a reason for everything that he had done.

I wonder how close he was to Kwon DongWoo??

I came down a while later to have some fried chicken which Yoon Ji has bought for the whole family, it would be so rude to not have fried chicken when the whole family is out there.

"HeeRa ssi, are you adjusting well to our family??" Her mother asked as soon as I took the seat next to Yoon Ji. Min Yoongi isn't here.

His father caught me looking for him. "He is in his room if you're wondering, HeeRa ssi. He doesn't like oily food that much."

"Ah, ne..." I said before taking a piece of fried chicken.

"Where is your hometown, HeeRa ssi?? You aren't from Seoul right??" His mother asked while grabbing another piece of chicken.

I nodded. "I'm from Jeju island."

"Jeju?? Is the place really beautiful?? Do you live with horses then??" I shook my head, many people have the misconception of Jeju people living with horses. There are horse farms and I have only gone to one until today.

"My parents run a bed-and-breakfast in the rural area of Jeju and I would help out every time I go back for holidays, we will also be staying there for the whole of next week." My parents would definitely arrange our lodging to be at the bed-and-breakfast as my home is there and nowhere else. It is expensive to stay at other places in Jeju.

"A bed-and-breakfast?? That's splendid!!" She said, sounding really excited and turned to her husband. "Should we go to Jeju island the next time??"

"I will definitely stay at your bed-and-breakfast if we go," YoonJi commented and I nodded.

"You are all welcome to go there," I said and they eagerly nodded.

The door opened and a messy-haired Min Yoongi came out looking at the four of us and then to the toilet, We must have laughed a little too loud. I wondered if he was fine and didn't lose his memories, he would be here laughing with us. Maybe he is a little different from before, talkative and kind. The aftereffects of the car accident left him being a weird person. I wonder how was he before??
