-3 A.M Thursday Morning-

"Yeah, I'll be home in time for her game. Don't worry, I won't let my baby girl down." I said noticing that my studio door had opened. "Anyway honey, imma get some rest. I love you too, see you later." Roman came in and closed the door behind him. His faced looked of one mixed with exasperation and confusion, making it obvious that something had or is upsetting him.

"You know, you have some very big ass balls to be showing up to my house like that." I said turning towards Roman. He just snorts. "What's your fucking problem, ROM!" I shouted.

He rolled his eyes, "You're supposed to be this big, badass, running the streets in secret. Leaving me to do all the dirty work, and you roun' here like a scared lil bitch lying to your family.

I glared at him and sighed.

He continued, "We have other important things to worry about Smoke." he spat, "not your dumbass secret about how you living a double life." he said bitterly. "We took a hit, one of our guys was killed last night and all his merch was stolen. This some crazy shit going on...and I don't know what to do." he said hopelessly. "I think its happening again, Smoke." he said as fear flashed across his face whilst looking at me. I stared at him in angry confusion.

"What are you talking about?" I said. He threw a folder on the table, casuing papers to spill out and on to the floor. I looked at the papers on the ground. I picked them up and began to read.

Reading those papers..it brought back horrible memories and tears began to pool in my eyes.

'I don't know why I'm so nervous, I've played in national tournaments before.' I thought. 'Well maybe because Kyrie brought the entire basketball team to cheer me on' I thought as I smiled.

"What the hell Lay, you have voices in your head huh?" Kayla asked laughing.

"Whatever, aren't you suppose to be over there, being cheerful?" I said as I smirked.

"HAHA, you funny bitch. I came to give you my good luck hug." Kayla said as she squeezed me into a hug.

"Uhm, can I interrupt ladies?" my dad voiced peered through. I smiled knowing that I was instantly calmed.

"I thought you said you wasn't gonna make it." I asked smiling. He sucked his teeth smiling.

"You know I couldn't miss this, this regionals right? Shoots, you know I got'chu baby girl."

I laughed, "Dad, stop talking like that...and I gotta go.' I said hugging him. I let him go and ran towards my huddling team.

"Good of you to make it, King!" coach Mitchell barked at me. I rolled my eyes internally and got closer in to listen to the game plan.

"LET'S GO BELLA, LET'S GO!" Marco's dumbass kept shouting.

"Yo Kai, your sister looking real sweet in them shorts," he said rubbing his hands together.

"You better sit yo annoying ass down, she don't like you niggas anyway." I said. Marco puckered and gave me the side eye. I rolled my eyes.

"What's up girls?" Trey said as he and D'Jay came through the row with snacks and horns.

"Marco over here being a perv, peaking at Bell...just nasty man." I said shaking my head.

"I thought you was fooling with Kendall tho?" D'Jay said, causing me to pucker my lips and giving Marco the side eye just as he did to me. Everyone burst out in laughter.

"Everyone quiet for the start of the game." the voice announced through the audio system.

"YEAAHH LAAAAAAYYAAAAHH." the whole basketball team shouted, disregarding the announcer's message and causing the entire gym to laugh. 'I'm friends with idiots.' I thought to myself.

"Wait is that Alana?" asked Marco.

"Yeah, how you know her?" I asked.
He clenched his jaw which meant he was thinking about something.

"Me and shawty graduated from high school together." He said softly obviously trying to hide something.

"OOoooo." sang Trey and D'Jay from behind us.

"Wait nigga.. that means you're like 30." I began to laugh.

"27." he said rolling his eyes.

"Good serve, Bella!" I shouted, getting ready to set the ball up. I set the ball over and the girl from the other side blocked it, causing them to get a point. "Shit." I said to myself.

"KING, WHAT'S THE MATTER WITH YOU. HIT THE DAMN BALL." coach screamed. I did just that. One of my teammate set me up and I spiked it straight into the backcourt, winning the game. The entire gym bursts into screams and cheers. All of my teammates came into a huddle and began to hug me and giving each other high fives. Just then Kayla and my parents came up to me.

"WAY TO GO LAYY, told you to show them bitches how to spike!" she giggled and hugged me.

"Damn baby girl, you had me scared." dad said.

"But you played well, Lay." mom said, with a giant smile.

"Thanks guys." I said smiling back at them. "Hey Ma!" I instantly smiled harder. Kyrie approached us. "Mom, Dad, this is Kyrie. You know the friend I was talking about." I said introducing them.

Dad glared at him, "mhhmm."

"King! Good job out there." she said with a hug and a grin. She then glared at my parents.

"Coach?" I asked confused. Her eyes started to water and silent sobs came out of her month causing my mom to look her way. Mom burst out into sobs and my Dad noticed what was happening. He stood there with tears coming out of his eyes.

"Aliyah?" Dad said staring at the coach.

'What? What's going on?' I thought to myself.
