As I get to my apartment, I fling my stuff onto the kitchen bar and sprawl myself out onto the sofa!

T:"Phew! What a day!!"

I close my eyes an instant before hearing the familiar scratching sound.

It's my hamster waking from his nap.

As usual, I slip my hand through the bars of the cage and he climbs into it.

I gently tickle the top of its head and it makes a little sound of satisfaction. I always find it cute when it does that.

Ditchy is greedy. Let's not kid ourselves, if it's a little obese it's because I often feed it crumbs of what I'm cooking...

But, as I often say, what's the use in living if isn't to make the most of the good things life has to offer?

As for that matter, I give it one of its favourite treats, a slice of dried banana.

I put Ditchy down on the sofa, next to me whilst I grab my laptop.

Like every evening I log onto my cooking blog.

I've had it for years, it's like my refuge, my secret garden...

Now, lots of people follows my recipes as well as my ups and downs. There are several with whom I often exchange instant messages.

And it's funny cause I'm beginning to have followers from a little all over the world!

I have to say that I don't just share my last culinary discoveries, I also confide in them about my life...

I have difficulty investing in anything without giving a little of myself.

Thus, several hundred people connect daily to "Tayla's little delights."

As I load the comments, I get up to get myself a snack.

My fridge is always filled! I am a big market fan, I'm always buying a little of everything!

As I wrote on my blog, to make tasty dishes you have to start by carefully selecting the ingredients. And the first thing to do is ban supermarkets!

I prepare a little meal on a tray, as I read the comments. Ditchy climbs quickly up my leg.

In seconds it's already on my shoulder ready to scrounge something.

T:"I don't know how you manage to be so fat and yet so agile!"

I laugh, watching it enjoys the crumbs and my eyes come back onto my screen.

It's lucky I have this blog. This huge town, I sometimes feel a little lonely... So all these people who follow me also provide me with a bit of human presence.

They're like confidants with whom I share my qualms.

I'm happy to see that my last recipe for Apple Tatin has cardamom and candied lemon was a real hit. I can still remember the face Lisa made when she first tasted it...

To quote her words, it was "a straight out gustatory orgasm!!"

I love cooking. It's been a passion of mine ever since I was old enough to know what gastronomy was.

I've always been fascinated by the subtle harmony, the scent and the beauty of the dishes prepared by renowned chefs.

I'm not claiming that my cooking talents are what makes haute cuisine... But with my blog I share my explorations, my desires and my discoveries. I'm always on the lookout.

In New York, there are lots of excellent restaurants from all over the world. That's what makes this town so magical, blended influences of every kind!

I decided to quickly treat my comments before going to shower and then to bed. The project, Gabriel entrusted us with wore me out!
