Ch2 ....... g

As I get to my apartment, it's late. Ditchy has both its paws on the bars of its cage and is staring at me.

T:"I'm sorry, boy! I've had a long day!"

I open the little door and delicately catch it to kiss it on its nose.

I sit down with him on the sofa. As I gently stroke the top of its head it curls up in a ball obviously enjoying it.

I soon think back to the surreal day I have just had.

It's strange but something intrigues me about Carter... There's something about him that makes me want to know more.

And I'm sure that I will learn a lot by working with him.

I sigh watching Ditchy groom itself.

T:"At least you don't ask yourself so many questions!"

My phone rings, it's Lisa.

T:"Hi, Lisa!"

Lisa:"So! What did you decide?"

My friend didn't miss a word of what I told her.

T:"I accepted the job."

Lisa:"Fantastic!!"

T:"Yeah! I think it's gonna be interesting!"

Lisa:"You bet, lucky you!"

Lisa:"I hope that with your senior position now, you'll still come out for lunch with the little secretary from the ground floor..."

T:"Don't talk nonsense!..."

Lisa:"You'll have to show me your new office, your ladyship the assistant..."

T:"The office or the sexy CEO?"

We both burst out laughing. It's good to talk to her, it helps me unwind!

T:"What are you doing, tonight?"

Lisa:"My pole dancing lesson's starting in 10 minutes! And you?"

T:"I think I'm gonna lounge in front of the TV with Ditchy."

Lisa:"You're right, you've earned it!"

I still wonder why he chose me when there are probably dozens of candidates for the post.

Lisa:"Anyway... I have to go sweety! I have to get ready for my class!"

T:"Ok, have fun!"
