Ch10 ........ H

Rooted to the spot, soaked through, my jaw clenched and my hands trembling, I stare at Jake.

T:"I DON'T KNOW JAKE! I DON'T KNOW ANYTHING, ANYMORE, I'M SICK AND TIRED!!"

The Lightning strike.

Now we're both yelling at each other in the middle of the street! The taxis drive by, impassive, as we tear each other apart.

Fortunately, there are no journalists around! They would have had a lot of fun reporting on the scene I'm making, worthy of a modern day drama queen.

On the other hand, several passers-by look at us warily.

I look at them severely.

Jake:"It's unbelievable! I CAN'T FUCKING BELIVE IT!!"

Jake gesticulates, sometimes passing his hands through his dripping hair, sometimes waving his hands in the air.

(Push him to the edge.)

T:"You'll have to explain Jake! Instead of throwing your arm around!"

(Did I really just say that? I'm condemning him without any proof, just on Ryan's doubts.) If I were him, I'd go crazy!)

He's scowling at me. Clearly showing me that I'm going too far.

Jake:"Explain what? Who to? To you? Are you playing God now? Fucking hell! And I thought you were different from all those condescending stupid bitches!!"

His words are brutal but well deserved. At the same moment, a clap of thunder rolls over our heads.

(Back off.)

T:"Calm down, Jake ..."

Jake:"What the hell! Calm down? After what you just said?"

T:"I just want some explanations ..."

Jake:"Explanations about what?! Goddamn it!"

To tell the truth, I don't know myself... I don't even know why I'm accusing him.

(Drop it.)

(Don't persist.)

T:"You know what? Just forget about it."

I let my arms fall down to my sides.

Seeing Jake come towards me, with a threatening expression on his face, I automatically takes a few steps back.

Suddenly, we're startled by the screeching of car tires!

As I turn around, I'm blinded by the headlights shining in my face!

The car literally veers onto The sidewalk and is heading... for me!
