It was Hogsmeade weekend and Fred was getting ready in the dormitory. "So I say we hit them all with Canary Creams." George said as he and Lee ties their laces on their bed. "What do you say, Freddie?"
Fred glanced at the two boys through the mirror and shrugged, "do as you want. I've got a date."
Lee choked on air and stared up at Fred in confusion, "With who?"
"It better be with Belle otherwise he's being pushed out of the window next to him." George stated standing up and grabbing his bag full of the potions, he and Fred had created.
Heat rose from his neck and Fred looked down scratching his neck. "That's for me to know and you guys not too. Now, I better be going. Breakfast will be over soon and I'd rather not have my stomach grumbling all day."
He exited the dormitory as Lee and George began to tease him making hearts with their hands and saying in an airy voice, 'Oh Florence, you do make me smile. Oh I love you Belle!'

"So where'd you want to go?" Belle asked Fred as they strolled around the village close together but still with space for a piece of parchment to sit between them.Fred played it off cool and shrugged, "wherever you what to go. It's not me who used to only go to the Hogshead."
Belle playfully shoved him as a cheeky grin grew on his face, he stepped back his hands in his pockets and winked at her. "How about... Madam Puddifoots?"
Fred looked at her incredulously, his face contorted in surprise, "Are you being serious? You want to go there?"
Belle nodded, "not because it's cute or anything like that but I fancy some peppermint tea. But if you don't want to go we can go back to Zonkos. I know you really didn't want to leave earlier."
Fred stopped the girl placing his hands on her shoulders, "I can go there anytime I want. I was just surprised that you wanted to go to Madam Puddifoots, I didn't take you the type to go that's all."
Belle inched closer, "so what did you think I was the type to go where then? That didn't make much sense but you get the point." She looked up at Fred who stared in amusement down at the girl who was a head shorter than him.
"I just had you as the type to only go to creepy-arse places like the Hogshead, like a secretive rebel, you know. The type to go places no one expects some one like you to go, and I could imagine you going to Madam Puddifoots but purposely going to places like the pub. And that also lacked a lot of sense but you get the point. Fred shuffled forward so that they were pressed together but he still had his hands on her shoulders.
"We don't make sense at all anyway. I don't see why we care if we don't. We never have made sense, you and I, Fred." Belle whispered, her voice so quiet only they could barely hear it
"What do you mean?" Fred also whispered.
"I doubt anyone could see us as friends. I certainly didn't, let alone on a date. And like now, we are whispering when we needn't be."
Fred nodded and watched as Belle glanced around, they were stood in the middle of the path, in the centre of the little wizarding village. Students passing them were giving them quizzical looks, some giggling and others turning their nose up at the pair who were very close together. Fred's head dipped closer, "but it means that we aren't copying everyone else, and us whispering keeps our business private." His eyes started closing and so did the girls', her face edging closer to his. They could feel each other's breath fanning their lips as the gap between them slowly disappeared.
Nearly touching, they were pushed away from each other as a large, scraggly, black dog pushed between them running off through the village. The pair were knocked to the ground opposite each other. "You alright?" Fred asked Belle as he held a hand out for her to take which she gladly excepted and was pulled up.
She nodded brushing her hair out of her face as the wind blew it over it. "You?"
"I guess..." Fred mumbled, taking her hand and leading her further into the village. "Let's go get that tea, eh?"

That was the second time they were stopped from kissing. Yet, it didn't end there. Later on that day, outside of Ravenclaw's common room, Fred having dropped Belle off after they returned from the trip, they were so close again but Roger Davies came barging passed annoyed at a fellow student, Darius Morganstein, who had apparently slipped him a canary cream during the day. Yellow feathers clogged his jumper and he slapped Fred on the arm as he was one of the creators. Fred was beyond pissed. He wanted to kiss Belle so badly but it seemed the world was against him. That and his arm hurt like a bitch. "Thank you for you today." Belle smiled at Fred, grabbing his hand bringing his attention away from the boy who had entered the common room. "It was nice."
"Just nice?" Fred questioned a jokey tone in his words.
"Beyond great."
"Cheese!" Fred laughed and pulled Belle into a hug. "No but I agree, it was great, despite being interrupted three times."
Belle blushed, pink tainting her cheeks. "That was the downside but we have all of time to kiss. But hopefully it won't be too long away. This will have to do." She pressed her lips to Fred's cheeks, stretching up on her tip toes, her lips lingering there for a moment."We could attempt again but I'm pretty sure everyone and their bloody aunt are stopping us."
Fred nodded, "You're right. I guess I'll see you at dinner?"
"From afar, yes. Afterwards, probably. You can tell me about these new sweets you and George are working on." Belle grinned, her thumb rubbing over Fred's. "But for now, I'll bid you a-due."
"Farewell my fair princess. I shall watch thee from afar, and you shall come to one's balcony at dusk." He kissed her hand, "Meaning meet me after dinner and you can come back with us to our common room."
"I'll see you then, Freddie."
"See you later, Bella."
