xix. BANISHED.

SWORDS CLASHED THROUGHOUT THE CAMP, and though they had their spears, the Unsullied used the short swords as reinforcement. "Where?" Laelia asks from inside her tent, surrounded by Allister, Korben, Melora, and Darys. They all looked down on a map drawn on an old parchment. "There," Darys points to a small dot on it. Laelia still didn't know where he was pointing to. He walks around, placing a hand on Laelia's hip as he seductively mutters while moving her finger to the point, "There. It's a back gate, my men use it to visit Iproni's bed slaves."

"Your men ― but not you," Allister replies, staring up at the towering man.

"I have no interest in slaves," Darys answers. "A man cannot make love to property." Laelia gives him a glance but quickly adverts her stare. It was rude to do so. "This is where we enter the city, very few guards ― they know me. They'll let me inside."

"We're not going to sneak an army through a back gate," Korben retorts.

"I'll kill the guards ― I'll take your two best men and lead them through the back streets ― "

Allister turns to view Grey Worm, who looks around awkwardly. " ― Which I know well, and open the front gates. Then comes the army. Once the walls are breached, the city will fall in hours."

"Or perhaps you'll lead Grey Worm and me to the slaughter. Cutting the head of our army, the Masters of Iproni will pay your fee and you won't have to split it three ways 'cause you've already slaughtered your partners."

"You have a very suspicious mind," Darys says. "In my experience, only dishonest people think this way."

Allister takes a deep breath and turns to Grey Worm. "You command the Unsullied. What do you think?" Grey Worm glances at Laelia for her to translate. "Ao issi nykeā jentys sir. Gaomagon ao pāsagon zirȳla?" (You are a leader now. Do you trust him?)

" Nyke pāsagon zirȳla." (I trust him.) Laelia takes a deep breath and turns back to the map, "You leave tonight." Allister bows his head in agreement, "Very good, we'll prepare." As Darys leaves, he gives Laelia a smirk, which she returns with a small smile.

"Ser Allister," Korben stops the men. "You can use an extra sword."

"You're the QueensGuard, Ser Korben. Your place is by the queen. If we are truly her loyal servants, we'll do whatever needs to be done, no matter the cost, no matter our pride." Korben nods and walks back to Laelia, head down.
