xxvi. NEVER BE TAMED

"HOW IS SHE?" THOR walks up to Heimdall, who stood at the edge of the broken Rainbow Bridge, staring into the sky with a sullen face. He wasn't happy his BiFrost was destroyed in a petty fight between the two brothers, but he managed to keep watch from the broken glass nonetheless.

"Jane, she's fi—"

"No, I speak of Laelia, how is she?"

"She's worried. She knows Loki has told her that he might be gone for a while, but she can't help but fear for the worst. She would like to see him, even if just for a second," Heimdall answers, adverting his eyes to give the blond brother a glance. "She wishes to see you, too."

Thor's eyebrows furrow. "Who?"

"Laelia. She wishes that both of you could've had met on better conditions, here in Asgard talking over wine and a feast, instead of in battle. But she says that the best people you meet are in battle, because blood doesn't make a family. It's if a friend is willing to fight for you, die for you on the battlefield; then you are truly family. Or, at least, that's what's she learned so far in her small time of being the Mother of Dragons."

"How did she and Loki meet?" Thor asks. "Did they fall in love and decided to marry in secret?"

Heimdall shakes his head, lowering his eyes to his feet, embarrassed, even for Loki. "No. Her brother sold her off to marry your brother, and the first night the spent as husband and wife, Loki raped her. Robbed her of her maidenhead. Then, later on, she learned how to please a man and made love to your brother, and the next day she was told she was with child. They had a ritual and named the baby Rhaego. Rhaego, later on, died, horrifically disfigured," he shuddered at the thought of the dead, maggot-infested baby. "Then she burned the sorceress, a man who tried to poison her, and the baby to give birth to her dragons. She got her dragons, 8,000 Unsullied soldiers, 2,000 Seconds Sons, and currently has freed slaves from the city of Iproni."

"So my brother is the God of Mischief and Lies, a wanna-be king, Prince of Asgard, husband, and now I need to add rapist to the list?"

Heimdall stares at the god before looking away. He wasn't going to say anything about it; he didn't want to get into royal family drama.

LAELIA'S DRAGONS WERE FLYING OVER the sea, Aenerys kept his head on her lap, allowing her to run her fingers down his scaled face and humming in pleasure. They were no longer the small little things they were; instead of being the size of medium-sized dogs, they were larger than a pony but smaller than a horse. Aenerys' growls were deeper, his head flicking up and the Greystone laughs softly at him.

Her dragons did anything and everything they could to cheer their mother up — going for walks beside her, allowing her to pet them without growling in hatred, and trying to make her laugh.

Allister watched at the small group; he noticed small things like Lokis and Thorsten were always a little short on the growth curve and how they still had the growls of a 2-month old baby dragon, even though they were nearing their 1 1/2 birthdays. Clashes of skin and muscle filled the air, Thorsten and Lokis fighting over an animal one of them had caught. They fought regularly like the real brothers did. Thorsten drops the hunk of meat, landing on the ground next to Aenerys. His head perks up at the sound and he sees a skinned goat, its eyes, ears, and fur had been hacked off by the two youngest brothers.

Thorsten was the first to grab it; ripping off whatever he could before Aenerys snatched it away and began trying to eat it without the interference of the other two. Laelia leans away a little bit, watching the scene unfold in front of her. Lokis and Thorsten growl at their brother to give it back, but he continues eating it despite their protests.

Laelia leans forward and begins to hush Aenerys, but he snaps at her and glares at her with his red eyes, her giving a small scream of surprise at him as she falls back onto her palms. Lokis and Thorsten take this moment to fly off with the meat, Aenerys standing up and lets out a roar. He flies after his brothers to get back his food.

Allister steps up on the rock, "They're dragons, Khaleesi, they can never be tamed. Even by their mother."
