Katie's POV

A week later, it was my birthday. A perfect birthday so far, if you ask me. I woke up to a text from Niall, sent at midnight, wishing me a happy birthday. My mom made me my favorite chocolate chocolate chip muffins for breakfast, which I paired with an Arnold Palmer-the best.

My friends at school made it an amazing 18th as well. They had covered my locker with birthday messages, and had Nando's delivered to school for my lunch, and that was so cool.

Now, it was the end of the day and the final bell had rung. I put my things into my bookbag (no homework this weekend-yay!), and went outside, where I saw Niall's car parked on the street. He had picked me up everyday after school this week, and some girls had swarmed the car the first few days, but he refused to get out of the car and take pictures, so now, they all sort of left us alone.

I hopped in the passenger side of the car and kissed Niall. "Hey, babe. How was school?" He asked.

"Hi, it was good, fun actually. My friends gave me a ton of birthday cards, and they got Nando's delivered for lunch."

"Nando's?!" He said excitedly.

"Yea, are you jealous?"

"Uh, yea." I laughed. He drove me home.

"Hey, I've got a soccer game tomorrow." I said.

"Really? The championship?" He sounded confused.

"It is, but it's going to be huge. I'm so nervous, but I'm really excited. Last game at my school, ever! It's nervewracking."

"Oh, you'll be fine, babe. Mind if I come?" He looked at me.

"Really?"

"Yea, of course. I really want to see you play, and cheer for you."

"Alright, yea, sure, you can come."

"Cool. Look, we're here. Listen. I'll pick you up in three hours, alright?"

"Okay. See you tonight." I kissed him before getting out of the car and going inside. I walked upstairs to my room and put my bookbag down. I changed from my uniform into yoga pants and a tshirt. I was going to go practice my dancing for a half hour before I got ready.

I came into the basement. I looked across the room and saw two boxes. One was smaller, and sat on top of the other. I came to it and saw a note on top. I picked it up.

My Dearest Cathleen,

Here are some extra wardrobe choices for our date tonight. Happy Birthday, love.

-Niall xx

P.S. Yes, I broke in to put these in your house.

I laughed and put the note aside. I opened the smaller box, and inside was those perfectly gorgeous nude Loubouins we had seen at the store. My eyes went wide as I took them out of the box. "Oh my god, Niall." I smiled and put them to the side. I opened the bigger box, and hanging on a bar inside the box was the Oscar de la Renta dress I had tried it on. I brought it out of the box and examined it. It was in amazing condition, and the fabric felt good against my hands.

Forget the dance practice, I was going to get ready for my date!

I looked in the mirror. The dress laid perfectly, and the shoes fit like a glove. I had pulled my hair into a low chignon bun. I had on brown and neutral eye shadow. I had put on just a swipe of blush and my lashes looked long and full with the mascara. I only put on a nude lipstick. I paired my outfit with a sequined black clutch. The doorbell rang, and I went downstairs to answer.Niall was standing there in a tuxedo.
