3 weeks later

Aileen's POV

I sat in Zayn's house in London. It was December 26th, and I had just traveled in to spend the rest of my break with him and the boys. Katie and I got back to Mullingar a week ago, and spent Christmas with our families. We were scheduled to go back to school in two weeks, and were having an early brthday party for Zayn after New Year's.

"How's Katie?" Zayn asked. We were both on the couch and I was curled up in his arms.

"Like shit." I said. "Zayn, she's not talking as much anymore. She gets up early to run every morning, goes to class, comes back, does her work, goes to the dance studio for two hours, then listens to music before she falls asleep before ten."

"Hmm."

"Zayn she never goes to bed before ten. I'm pretty sure she cries while writing on the laptop. She's so closed off. I'm so scared seeing her like this. I hate it so much. I hate it." I began to cry.

"I'm so sorry, love. We never thought it would have ended like that." Zayn hugged me in close.

"She's not right, Zayn. I've never seen her like this. She's always been so happy. I've seen her unhapy of course, but never for this long!"

"Shhh...shhh. It'll be fine. I promise."

"I just hate seeing the both of them so upset, I hate it so much."

"I do, too."

Katie's POV

I sat in my basement, twirling a piece of hair around my finger. There was a knock on the sliding screen door, and I shot up, hoping for a second, that it was Niall, just like he had knocked on the door so many times before.

Although, it was another one of my guy friends, Seamus. I had not seen him since the end of the school year. I smiled weakl and opened the door for him. He gave me a hug.

"Hey! Katie, good to see you."

"You too! What're you doing here?" I asked.

"I wanted to see if you wanted to get a drink. I've heard you've been down lately, and I just wnated to lift you up."

"Thanks, but..."

"It wasn't a question."

"I'll just get changed then." I smiled and ran upstairs. I put on skinny jeans, black high heels and a purple flowy blouse with a leather bomber over it. I applied some mascara, and there was a knock on the door. "Come in." I said.

"Hey." I turned to see Patrick.

"Hey. What's up?" I asked.

"I noticed Seamus was here, and he's been a good guy, and I thought, you know, maybe you could-"

"Pat, I'll never be able to get over Niall. I'm in love with him."

"I feel terrible I never got a chance to beat him up for what he did."

"He didn't do anything."

"Katie, you've been crying ever since you got home! Sitting in the basement, drinking and sleeping and not talking. It's not like you. He did something."

"I broke up with him."

"What?'

"Management got in the way. It was better for everyone. I never wanted to do it, but I was saving Niall's career, and the other girls' relationships. I'm really upset about it, and I just want him back."
