Katie's POV

I woke up the next morning and put on a pair of skinny jeans with my red Toms. I put on a flowy floral tank top and pulled my hair into a high ponytail. I figured the airport would be chilly, so I threw on my red soccer warm up jacket. My dad had already taken all of my stuff and put it in the car. He, my mom, and my brothers were driving to the airport with my stuff, while I went with Niall and his dad.

Mr. Horan picked me up and we went to the airport. We all got out and had to help unload my stuff. Niall only had two full suitcases and a carry-on, as most of his stuff was back in London. We checked all of my bags except the tote I was bringing on the flight. There were fans waiting for Niall. I had never seen so many fans in one place, and there were less than a hundred there, but it was still sort of scary. They were all snapping pictures.

We all came to the gate, and a woman announced that they were now seating our rows. I hugged my brother, Colin, and then Patrick. "Be good, Katie. I don't want some headline about you out patying every night." Colin said and I smiled through the tears that were starting to form in my eyes.

"I promise I won't get too crazy!" I said, and then looked to Patrick.

"Now, I may be too over-protective of you, and we may frustrate each other to the ends of the earth, but I do love ya Katie. Going to miss you." I gave him another hug.

"I'm going to miss you, Pat." I turned to my mom, and we crashed into each other. She pulled back slightly and took my face in her hands.

"Alright, now, be good, and do what they tell you and brush your teeth everyday and wear a jacket if it's cold and put on sunscreen. And call and text. everyday."

"I promise, mom. I love you." I said.

"I love you, too, sweetheart." She broke from me to talk to Mr. Horan, and that is when I noticed my dad was cut off from the rest of us. He stood a few yards behind the group, with his hands shoved in his pockets. He did this whenever I seemed to be growing up. He did at my graduation and prom night, too, and I knew he just was breathing in the moment. I walked over to him.

"Daddy?"

"Princess?"

I smiled up at him. He was a lot taller than me. "I'm going to miss you a lot."

"I'll miss you too, babe. Just remember how beautiful you are. You've got a good head on your shoulders, and I believe you'll know what to do for whatever it is. He's a good kid, Niall is."

I looked over my shoulder to Niall. Colin and Pat were talking to him, with their arms crossed. They were both a few inches taller than him. They were no doubt threatening him.

"Yea, I really like him, dad. He's special, not like anyone else. Please tell the boys not to go too hard on him."

"I will, love, and just make sure  you're not giving anything up for him."

"I won't. I love you, daddy."

"I love you, too, sweetheart." He hugged me.

"Katie? We've got to get going." I turned to see Niall. My dad walked towards him and shook his hand.

"You two have fun," He said. "Not too much fun, though, and make sure you take care of my little girl."

"I promise, sir." He said. I gave my parents and brothers, even Mr. Horan, one last hug before we turned to the gate. I looked back at my family all behind me, and I waved one last time, and then Niall and I turned to walk through the gate.I wiped away some of my tears, and Niall pulled me close as we walked.
