Katie's POV

The boys did an amazing concert in Dublin, and the next morning, we drove down to Mullingar to have lunch with my parents. We rolled into my parents' driveway and my mom was running out the door towards me as soon as I got out of the car. She came up and hugged me.

"Oh sweetie! I've missed you so much! Here let me have a look at you!" She put her hands on my shoulders and took a look at me. "You've gotten tan! Oh, Jesus, love, you look amazing!" She gave me another hug. "Oh, hello, Niall, dear, good to see you." She hugged Niall. "Come, let's go inside."

I visited with my dad and brother, Patrick. Pat was pretty nice to Niall, seeing as I wasn't dead or crying, he was cool about it. We ate lunch, and sat and laughed. My mom was slightly worried about what had gone down in New York, but she said I looked a lot better. I told them all about the tour and all the advenures we had, and it was sad to say goodbye, but we did.

Niall and I changed at a friend's house for dinner. He put on a navy suit over a white polo and his nice blue shoes. I put on a figure-hugging, but not tight, dark gray dress. It had a sash around the middle, and the straps gave a halter allusion from the front, but they crisscrossed in the back. I paired it with bright turquoise heels and a black clutch. My friend, Niamh, curled my hair to perfection and gave me a smokey eye with lip gloss. I came out of her room. Niall was sitting talking with Sean Cullen, one of our friends.

"Wow, you look amazing." He stood up to come over to me. "You're almost my height." He laughed.

"Almost." I giggled and kissed him. "Let's get going." Sean and Niamh drove us out to the restauant, and we met up with everyone. Aileen, Mark, Chris, and Andrew were all there. I got a huge smile on my face when I spotted Aileen. I had missed her so much. "Aileen!" I said a I hugged her.

We went and ate dinner, and after, it was almost ten as Niall picked up the check. We were standing in the front talking when Aileen cocked her head to someone behind me. "Look who it is, Katie."

I turned and saw the gorgeous Ali McGinley. Ali and I always had been good friends. Not great, but good. She was a very nice girl, and we had been partners on projects before, getting an A every time. I was however, slightly jealous of her. I knew Niall used to like her. I know she liked Niall, and sometimes, without realizing it, I saw her as a threat. Ali was perfect, and she could give Niall anything I gave him just as easily. I was scared he would leave me for her. Also, she seemed a bit more icy towards me since I began dating Niall.

I put my arm protectively around Niall. He leaned down and kissed me. He smiled that wonderful smile at me. "You are amazing." He said, and I blushed. Suddenly, I felt a tap on my shoulder. I turned and Ali was there. I let go of Niall, and being that girl who kills with kindness, I gave Ali a hug. "Ali! Great to see you, dear."

"Hi! Katie, can I talk with you for a minute?" I nodded and we went to the side. "I'm sorry if I ever made you feel like I didn't like you and Niall together."

"Well, you don't."

"No, I didn't. I've never seen him with you, and he looks really happy. Niall's one of my best friends, and I'm not taking that happiness away from him. He looks so in love with you."

"Thanks, Ali, that means a lot. I hope we can be friends."

"Of course, and just so you know, I don't love him like that anymore. I'm with another lad."

"Alright, well, we've got to get going." She nodded, and I began to walk away. "Katie!" Ali yelled and I whipped back around with a confused look. "Can I be in the wedding? I'll do a reading."
