J's POV

"Why are we doing this?"

"Because you owe me one", she says.

"But you know we aren't going to finish this until like 1am, right? Once we start there is no going back." I pick the controller, and look at the start screen.

"Don't you see how prepared I am? I know what I am in for."

"Alright, but don't cry when I eventually win them all..."

"That is if you win. Challenge accepted though!" She puts a peace sign next to her eyes and smiles.

Simi has been by my side since we were... I can't even remember. She didn't know about anything until two years ago and she has taken it well. She sees him every so often around the house or talking with me and waits for him to leaving before coming to me.

I honestly am so happy to have met her, despite her behavior sometimes.

I am, even if she is rude to me, calls me names, takes my stuffs, never shares, doesn't take responsibility...

Never mind. Either well, she is still there for me in thick and thin. That's all.

Well most of the time she is.

Scarlet's POV

"So how have your classes been going?" I asked. After the café, we went the store to buy foods and snacks so we can watch something back at the house. Thank goodness I cleaned up before I left.

"They have been alright. Some teachers though, they just like to forget things and tell 'Oh! This project is due tomorrow' when they didn't tell us the date in the first place!! I don't understand why they do that!" Taye almost shoves the cart across the isle.

"But what about you?" he adds. "You've been taking classes online. And it's your masters degree you going for. That was be frustrating."

"Eh, get my bachelors was worse." Not even joking, I didn't leave my house for an entire year and a half. Taye had to drop off food outside my door every two weeks.

"Ah, yeah that's true..." He scratches his head. "That was bad."

"I mean now I just have to turn in work, which isn't that bad. And I'm at home most of the time anyway, so I have time to work on projects and with partners anytime." Unfortunately half of my partners don't do shiz.

"But that means you don't get to talk or interact with them! You don't get to meet up or do anything! You set yourself up to be alone. Introvert." He pushes me to the side a bit.

"Yep, I'm cool with it that way, extrovert." It's the best way not lash out at a friend, too. Don't need it doing that.

Now, Taye somewhat gets that I do lash out, but doesn't understand that is uncontrollable for me. I don't get angry or start screaming for no reason because I want to. He doesn't know. But at least he decided to stick by me anyway.

"Aye, I didn't say you should get butt-hurt because of that. I guess that make you special, dumb-dumb." He pinches my cheek. "Race you to the cash register!"

"Oh, it's on!"

We turn the corner and speed past other shoppers, narrowly missing collisions.

"You're too slow with the cart, Taye!" I yell. There is no way he is going to beat me.

"As if! You're going to wish you never-" He stops abruptly. "Yo, look out!"

I turn to see a crate in my way. Why now of all times, when I'm trying to have fun?

Well, you're screwed. Say good bye to everything.

"Oh my god, can't you just..." I effortlessly hurdle over the crate, but slip on the tiles as I try to land. Stupid floor.

"Ara! You okay?!" Taye rushes up to me laughing. "First, you burn your mouth, next you slip on the floor. What next?" He reaches out his hand and pulls me up. "I told you, you never change."

I glare at him and adjust myself, trying to ignore the people staring. "I'm going in the cart."

"What? Why? That's not fair!" He tries to block me but I push him out of the way.

"I hurt leg."

He scoffed. "As if you did! You are walking fine!"

"Shut up and let's go pay this stuff." I pop a squat in the cart and we head to the cashier.

I walked Taye to his car after we finished watching the movie at my place. I didn't enjoy the movie as much I enjoy his reactions to it. It was hilarious.

"Thanks for hanging out with me today. I guess I needed it."

You guess?

"No problem. At least you're happy. Call me when you need to!" He gives me the tightest hug I've head in a long time. I should just call him the spine breaker instead. This guy is too much. Too tall, too strong, but too playful.

"Let go... can't breathe man" I managed to say.

"Oh sorry, anyway, see ya later. Like I said call me!"

We wave good bye to each other and I watch him drive away before going inside.

Today was a good day. I didn't hurt anyone, except myself so I'm good.

Don't get to happy about it. That doesn't mean anything good for you. Just because he cares doesn't mean he'll do anything for you.

"Well, at least I can trust him, unlike the other guy." J suddenly comes to mind. I wonder he's been up to.

J's POV

"That's not fair! You should've gone easy on me!!", Simi cries.

"I gave you a heads up. You should have known by now that I win this game all the time." I run my hand through my hair and lean back in the couch. This place is a mess. Bags upon bags of chips, snacks, and food plus cans and bottle of water and drinks. J... what the actual-

"Well, I'm out."

"Wait, what?!" I see Simi packing her things and heading to the door. "Oh no you aren't." I quickly rush after her and push her again the wall. "You can't just leave like that." I smiled.

"Ha! Yes I can. It's your house not mine, so I have to leave at some point." She looks to the side and crosses her arms. "Besides what are you going to do about it?"

"This." I swiftly throw her over my shoulder and walk back to mess.

"J!" She smacks my back. "Gemini! Put me down!"

"Nope." Dropping her on the couch, I head to the closet. "Trying to runaway before you complete your part of the deal? Oh, there it is!" I pulled small maid outfit and toss it to her. "Time to pay up."

"No way, I'm not wearing this! And I'm not cleaning up this place."

"Yes, you are. Otherwise... you'll have to do worse." I slowly walk closer to her with hoping to scare her a bit. "You don't want to do worse, right?"

"Ugh, you suck! At least try to help me!" She puts her hands together and looks me in the eyes. "Please?"

"..." My goodness....

If you accept she'll shut up and obey. Good point...

I let out a sigh. "Alright fine, but-"

"Thank you!" She leaves a peck on my cheek and goes to change out.

Why does she act like this and for what reason? Up till this day, I still don't freakin know... And actually I don't think I want to...
