A Couple of days later
Ara's POV
"You guys! Tell me what's going on." I insist on knowing why Taye is covering my eyes and walking me somewhere. I swear I almost slipped if not for him, miraculously, catching me fast enough.
"Don't worry! Just wait a second..." he says, as I hear a door open and we step forward a few steps.
"Imma kill you Taye if you don't move your hands." I growled threw my teeth. I wasn't kidding about that. He knew.
"Okay, okay, alright. Calm down," he releases his hands form my eyes when...
"SURPRISE!" I stumbled back and fell on the floor as Simi, J and Taye yelled and throw streamers.
"What is this...? What's going on?" The room is a little decorated with balloons, table cloths, and silverware.
"We thought you might like this and it will help cheer you up." Simi smiled and waves her hands next her face, as J brings out a cake with three candles on it.
"Wow! J actually got me a cake! He must really care!" He rolls his eyes and we all started laughing as J tries to come up with a comeback.
"Ha ha very funny. At least you have a cake," he says with a smirk.
"Ah yes, a cake! Looks delicious, doesn't it?" Simi winks and laughs.
"Wow... I can't-" Then it hit me.
"Wait! Oh no! I'm not even prepared!" I look at the others who are dressed up in a nice blouses and button ups, while I'm wearing shorts, a large t-shirt, and socks, looking like I'm fresh out of bed.
"Who cares?" Taye pats my back and pushes me to sit down. "You don't have any work to do, you're out of the hospital, you have people like us around to help you!"
Taye pulls Simi and J to him, and they all smiled together, making the funniest poses and faces. I can't help but laugh hysterically and start clapping, as they continue.
These people really seem to care about me... but why do I feel so...
After their silly performance, they join me on the couch, keeping close to me in every way possible: Taye wraps his arm around my neck, Simi lays on my lap, and J sits behind me on top of the couch, resting his hands on my head.
"Ara", Taye puts his head on my shoulder. "Do you really think we care about what you look like right now, after all of this?"
I let out a sigh.
"I guess not. I mean you guys are hugging a hot mess like it's the softest thing in the world. It's either I'm that special, you guys really like me, or your blind and insane...."
I pause. "Scratch that, you guys are already crazy."
"Hey!" They all yelled, and we crack up, laughing so hard we start crying right there, almost collapsing on one another.
We soon catch our breath.
"Thank you for doing this guys," I start. "It really helps my mood-" What Taye said earlier comes back to me and I almost jump up. " I do have work to do because I'm in school! Just cause I'm out of the hospital doesn't mean I'm better!"
"Oh shut up." J tugs my hair and gets off the couch. He uses a fork to cut a piece of the cake and crouches in front of me. "A gift from me to you. Say 'ah'." He waits for me to open my mouth, reluctantly, and eat the cake.
I almost died.
From happiness. The cake was so good. I find myself taking more bites from him. I'm embarrassed, but, brethren, the desire to eat overcomes everything.
"Thanks J." I ruffle his hair when I'm done and flash a smile before he swags my hand away.
"That's Gemini to you." He gets up and does the same to me and walks out of the room.
"Woah... I can call him that? Is it safe?" I look at Simi, who I now realized has somehow fallen asleep. This girl.
"I'll take her to her room." Taye loves to carry her and heads to the door. He stops and looks at me. "You're doing fine. Just keep up what you've been doing."
I watch him exit the room in awe. How he knew, I don't know. Why? I don't know. But I guess it doesn't matter anymore.
I take another scoop of cake before running up to my room and flopping on the bed.
Today was my birthday. I don't think they knew, they just did this coincidentally. But I'm happy. I almost didn't make it to this day. I still feel like crap though.
I look at my arm that still has some bandages on it.
"But I made it anyway. I can make it to the next one, right?" A closed smile spreads on my face as tears run down. "I did it!"

"I can't believe you guys did this!" I'm almost screaming at the top of my lungs.
"You always listen to them and we thought we could get you some tickets to help cheer you up. Go get ready!" Gemini winks and gives a peace sign, as the others starting heading to the car.
I run into my closet and grab the most casual but fashionable things I could find. Boots, ripped jeans, white long sleeve, jacket and cap. Music player, earbuds, pen, necklace and ring.
I'm so ready for this. These guys got me tickets to my favorite groups! All the songs that I played are replay, I get to hear live!
Unable to contain my happiness, I (no joke) launches myself down the stairs, rushed out the door and hopped into the back with Gemini, starling him, Simi and Taye. "My god! What the heck?" He stares at me, wide eyed.
"Let's go!" I shout. I don't even care. I just can't believe they did this for me.
