It was not that he didn't appreciated Levi's efforts, but he felt a bit embarrassed, which started to show in his face with a tiny tinge of red on his cheeks. He laughs nor cheerful now, but quiet. A full on laughter isn't possible at the moment without ripping everything inside of him apart. The taste of the meat was heavenly, so much, that he was forgetting everything else for some seconds, even that Levi was feeding him. The deep vice besides him brings him back.
"Oh I see." He takes Levi's hand softly and smiles at him. "If we once were friends to this extent, I am sure we will be again, Levi." His eyes are soft as he looks at the male and his smile was sweet and genuine. "And Levi, I can eat the rest alone. My arm here is functioning." He waves his left hand around a bit, but finches slightly when the muscles on the side of his chest react as well and cause some pain. "There is no need to feed me, but I am grateful anyway." It was still embarrassing to be fed like a baby.

Even before, he didn't wanted any help with his missing arm. His thinking was that if he can't tend to himself, he can't lead an army, so he always tried to get everything done by himself, from washing, shaving, putting clothes on to drinking, eating and all other daily things, that suddenly became a real burden. It is astonishing how silly you can feel if you can't even put your clothes on alone or how angry you can get by not being able to cut your meat alone. He always hated to be threatened like a child. He stopped being one ever since he caused his father's death, luckily the Erwin now can't remember that, but the silly feeling still remains.

He had a slightly sad look in his eyes, but at the same time the will to live and continue and hopefully to remember at least who his close ones are.
"I will get used to it again. The missing arm. It happened before the war, that send me here right?" He takes the wine to have a sip. The alcohol was burning slightly in his dry throat and it wasn't much of his taste. The old Erwin liked to have a good glass of wine, when they had the chance to drink one, but somehow right now he wasn't a fan of the taste of it. So he puts the glass down again, looking slightly bemused at Levi.

When Erwin touched his hand like that, it made a shiver run down his spine. It wasn't a bad feeling, it actually felt good. The only time Erwin put his hand on him was to get Levi's attention. But this was different, he could feel the affection in Erwin touch. He had seemed to misjudge the situation greatly when Erwin continued to speak.
"You never eat alone. We always eat together. As for me feeding you. You can hardly use your arm, if you are going to get better you need to let it rest and feel. No heavy lifting."
The last line was a joke and a tiny smirk appeared on Levi's lips. He was not about let Erwin stop him though.

He could see the unpleasantness on his face when he took a sip. It wasn't like Erwin to turn down a glass of wine. Maybe the wine was corked. He grabbed the glass and gave it a sniff before tasting it. It was fine and definitely the kind Erwin liked.
'Did his tastes change as well?'
Levi thought to himself before putting the glass down.
"It tastes fine to me. Is something wrong?"
He asked as he looked over at Erwin. Maybe it would of been best to ask for some water as well.
"I'll get you a glass of water, just relax until I get back."
He said and put the dish on the table before getting up and leaving.

Whilst he was gone Erwin could hear some arguing amongst two people outside. Someone else wanted to see Erwin. But the nurse, fearing a fight in Erwin's room would be inevitable when Levi came back. She tried to refuse him.
"Commander, Lady Dok. Please wait.. If Corporal Levi catches you in there he'll have both of our heads." A female voice said.
"I don't care what that street rat does, I've come to see your Commander. Now let me through. That is an order." A male voice said.
