9 - Reveal

"Ah so it is. Hm I see, even tho I don't see now why I should be friends with him. Kind of strange huh?" He pauses and looks a bit worried after Levi said he had slept on a chair the past days. That was not healthy at all. For now he didn't protested being fed, having way too many thoughts in his head, but after a few bites he stops Levi's hand softly.
    "You shouldn't sleep in a chair. I don't mind if you go to your home to get some sleep as long as you are here when I wake up." He laughs a bit awkward. "Haha that doesn't even make sense. Let us ask the nurse if you can get a bed in here as well." Just as he mentioned the nurse one came in after a short knock on the door.
    "Mr. Ackerman, Mr. Smith I got the water as requested."
    "Thank you miss. Could we possibly get another bed in here." He could see Levi wanting to protest from the corner of his eyes, but he doesn't care. Levi has to pay attention to his health as much as he does.
    "I will see what I can do, but I can't promise anything. We got many wounded still resting here." She got a very apologetic look on her face. The last fight pushed the hospital to their limits with beds and rooms. It was only because of Hanji and Levi, that Erwin got one for himself. Believe it or not, but Hanji can be a very very scary woman if she wants to. Erwin thanks the woman before she leaves and takes a sip of his water feeling very refreshed after that. Speaking of feeling refreshed it only now crossed his mind.
     "How long was I unconscious? I didn't asked before and yes I do like it as well. I only can say thank you again. I don't know why you do this, but I am really glad." He smiles back at Levi and obediently opens his mouth for another bite again. It was almost normal. Like there was a deeper understanding between them than with anyone else.

    Maybe both shared a stronger bond than any knew and this bond still remains unconsciously inside of him. It was as if his mind is at ease when he sees or hears Levi and he finds the strength to sort a few things out for himself or progress what has been told to him.
    Happy he leans back and relaxes again letting Levi feed him until he is full and can't take any other bite.
    "What do we do if you can't get a bed? I don't want you to sleep on that chair." It looked uncomfortable to him. How could anyone sleep on such a thing anyway?

Word got finally to Hanji, that Erwin is awake and what condition he is in. She was happy like no one else and the sorrow in her heart was a little bit less pressing, but she didn't had time yet to go and see him. Many things had to be taken care and she hated all this serious situations she is in momentarily, but she really wanted to see him and works hard to make some space to eventually get there later on the day.

When he finished feeding Erwin he started to protest against what Erwin wanted. Levi would naturally give in to nearly anything if it meant helping Erwin. But with this, Levi had to ensure he was ok and that Erwin was overreacting. Why? Because he sleeps in his own room in the same fashion, upright and on his couch. It was a behavior he had continued on from the underground. A fight or flight sleeping position. It was rare he could relax enough to lay down the way Erwin wanted. Especially around his liege, the man he had to protect at all cost. This wasn't the same Commander as before. Erwin was even more vulnerable than ever before.
"Erwin, please. I am fine like this. It makes everything easier for me. If I lay down, my reactions will be much slower and I may not be able to protect you."
His face was stern on the subject and refused to budge on it. But the nurse came in with an extra bed and put it up against Erwin's.
"Here you go Commander."
She bowed her head before leaving. Levi glared at her with contempt. Not only for where she placed the bed, but for calling him Commander. As of now, Erwin Smith wasn't the Commander of the Survey Corps, Hanji was. To suggest anything else could be seen as an act of treason. Plus, he didn't want Erwin to know too much about his past and the things he had done.

When the nurse was out of the room, he got up and walked over to the bed to fix it when Hanji came. He looked at his position, it seemed like Levi was the one to push the bed's together. Hanji smirked as if she knew something not even Levi knew.
