"Kang Nara, Im Nayeon, Park Jihyo, Yoo Jungyeon and Lee Felix, to the principal's office please."

Nara gulped, the names were awfully coincidental to yesterday's incident. She could feel that Jinyoung was also looking at her so she turned and gave him a small smirk, to tell that it was nothing big when in reality she felt so nervous.

She looked in front at Felix who sat two tables apart from her, but she couldn't get any expression from him. He seemed calm. Did he tell the principal? Nara thought, and almost yelled as she concluded it. She thought he could be trusted, although he was a pain in the ass for her at times but she would have never thought that he couldn't keep his mouth shut.

The two of them exited the class with eyes on them as they walked out of the door. Nara had her fists clenched, she was going to kill him if it really turned out that he was the one who broke it to the principal. The whole school knew how much ruined Nara and her friends were, but no one bothered except for Felix.

"Did you tell her?" Nara broke the silence as they made their way to the office.

"I told her nothing." He said calmly, teasing her as if it was a joke. With the stupid face he was making, Nara was even more angrier. She could just pounce and beat the shit out of him if they weren't near the office yet. She exhaled, trying to calm herself down and think of a lie if she was going to be charged for underaged smoking with the three girls.

"Kang Nara and Lee Felix, you can go in." The clerk said. Nara was more nervous that ever, she had never been caught before. She was good at lying but schools involved parents and she hated them.

As they were about to enter the room, the door opened from the inside and three girls walked out. Nara had her eyes rounded, why did the principal wanted to see them separately? Shit, this is harder than I thought, Nara cursed. She wanted to see if they were telling the truth. If she told her a different story, then they were done for it.

"Oh, Nara and Felix. Yes, take a seat." She said and the two did as told. Nara kept playing with fingers, she was for the first time nervous to tell a lie. She had done it so many times, even to her parents but she had never been called to see the principal before.

The woman removed her glasses and looked at the two of them in the eyes. Nara forced herself to not quiver, she looked back at her, trying to look uninterested as possible.

"The World Health Organisation is holding a small, I would say competition. And each chosen school are required to send their best student. Those who are sent, would be fully sponsored by them to study a medical related course in any universities of their choices."

"Since you two are the school's best students, I would highly recommend for you to participate in this competition. But there's a catch, each school can only send one student. So, I suggest you compete harder with one another but don't forget to also help each other out." She added.

"Isn't it exciting? You two were classmates just now, friends, now you're fighting enemies in academics.  I will look through your progress throughout this year and pick the best student by the end of this semester. That is all, and I wish you all the best." She smiled.

Nara and Felix got up, and bowed a little to her before exiting the room. The whole time, they both kept quiet. She was relieved that she wasn't busted for smoking, that would've effect her performance in school. Then, she thought of the scholarship.

She was going against Felix, not that she cared. Both of them had countless times beat one another's score for every exam but to actually fight her life for a fully sponsored scholarship? It was too easy to be true, that the scholarship would be hers by just scoring.

You don't need just the brains, you also need the fitness and the perfectly moulded soft skills, and also you need power, influence. That was the one thing that had her a step behind of Felix.

She glanced at Felix in front of her, his back was all she could see but his aura was strong enough to outrun her. His family was very influential, both parents were doctors and they contributed a lot to each school's event. He was the teacher's favourite, also great in sports. Maybe that was why he seemed unbothered at all by the offer—

"You won't treat me differently right?" He asked.

He's worried about that? Nara's eyes rounded. Her thoughts must be correct, the winner was obvious from the start somehow but she wasn't going to give up just yet.

If there was one thing that she was never willing of sacrificing, it was her future. She wanted to escape the poor and pathetic life she had now. She wanted to leave behind everything, her messed up parents included. She wanted to start a new life.

"We were never friends." Nara answered and she heard him chuckled. "Glad to know you're still you." He replied and both of them walked into class. As soon as they walked in, all eyes were on them again. Nara could hear Seungmin asking Felix what happened.

As she sat down, she stared at his back then at her notes. She knew she had to expect the worst, but she was not going to stop fighting for the scholarship. Although a part of her felt like she had already lost.
