Tobias's POV
I'm woken up by a constant ringing sound. After awhile of it continuing, I realize that it's the doorbell installed. Who in the world is ringing the doorbell like a maniac? Well, it seems like the guys aren't getting up to answer it, so I guess I have to.
I grudgingly get up out of bed and trudge to the door. I unlock it and open it up to see Christina, Shauna, and Marlene standing at the door.
"Finally! Are you guys rocks or something? I swear there could be a tornado going on, and all of you guys would still be asleep," Shauna says.
"What are you guys doing here?" I ask with a yawn.
"We all have classes this morning, and we came over to get the guys' butts up out of bed so they won't be late. Again," Christina explains.
"Be my guest," I say as I hold open the door wider to let them in. They all walk in and set off in search of the guys. I shut the door and walk to the kitchen since I probably won't be able to go back to sleep now.
I pour myself a glass of orange juice and decide to start some breakfast. I get everything prepared and start frying the bacon. I'm done fixing my bacon, sausage, and scrambled eggs, and I'm about to start the toast when the gang walks in.
"Ooh. Food," Uriah says and tries to grab a piece of my bacon. I smack his hand away, and he starts pouting.
"If you want food, here you go," I say as I toss all of them some pop tarts and bagels. They immediately start eating it, and I put the bread in the toaster.
"So Four," Christina says, and I turn around to face her. "Since we'll be gone for quite some time, I just wanted to make sure you know that Tris and Toby will be in the penthouse two floors down. Toby is still sick, so they won't be going anywhere. She might need some company. Oh, and if she doesn't answer the door, just walk right in. It's unlocked."
With that she turns around, and they all head out of the kitchen.
"Umm. Ok. Bye, guys," I call after them.
I quickly get the toast out of the toaster, spread some butter and jam on it, and sit down at the island with my food. I eat my food pretty quickly and then just sit there for a few minutes. After awhile of thinking, I get up and head to my bathroom. I decided that I'll go down to see Tris and Toby. I mean, what else do I have to do?
I quickly take a shower and throw on some black joggers and a dark grey shirt. I slip on my black converse, grab my phone and my keys (just in case), and head downstairs to the girl's penthouse.
I decide to knock on the door first, and when she doesn't answer after a few minutes, I try the handle, and surely enough, it's unlocked. I walk to where the living room is and stop in the doorway. There is Tris sitting on the couch with Toby curled up in her lap.
I'm about to say something when she strokes the hair out of Toby's face and starts singing a song. My song.
And might I say, that I love that song coming out of her mouth better than it coming out of my own. The way she sings it too makes it feel like she sings it all of the way. Like the words and the melody are so familiar to her tongue. She makes it feel like it's her own song; that no one else can do anything the way she does. So perfectly. I get so lost in her voice just like I always do that I almost forgot where I am.
Once I actually come back, I see her wipe away a tear that fell down her cheek. I didn't even notice it falling. That's when I decide that I need to let her become aware of my presence somehow.
"You're voice is still as beautiful as I remember it." What? That was the first thing that flew out of my mouth.
She looks up at me, and I see a little blush make its way on her face. That same old blush that I used to see almost everyday. I loved that blush, and I still do.
