Tris's POV

"Mommy! Mommy! Wake up! It's time to get up!"

I feel little hands shaking me, and I know it's Toby.

I open my eyes and turn over to look at him, and he just beams at me.

"Good morning, Mommy," he says, and I can't help but smile at how cute he is.

"Good morning, Toby. And why are you up so early?" I ask him.

"Because it's Daddy's birthday today!" he exclaims.

"Yes, it is." I say. "But his surprise party isn't until tonight."

"I know! But I'm so excited! I couldn't sleep! Plus, you said we were making Daddy breakfast."

I laugh a little as I pick him up and put him in bed with me.

The end of summer has finally crept up on us all, and it has been the absolute best summer of my life. Since the world now knows the truth about me and Tobias, we began spending more time out in public together as a family, and it really has been amazing. With every new day I spend with him and Toby, the more I fall in love with him, and the more I can't wait for the future days to come.

But the end of the summer means Tobias's birthday which Toby and I are totally excited for. Me and the gang have been planning this surprise party pretty much the whole summer. He's done so much for me and Toby; I want to spoil him for a chance.

Since Tobias and I met towards the beginning of the school year, his birthday had already passed, and since I left to go to New York before the summer, I missed his birthday then too. So I have not celebrated a single one of his birthdays with him.

That's why I have to make this one special.

Toby and I are making him his favorite breakfast and surprising him with it at his penthouse. After we lay around for awhile, we're going to get ready, and while Toby stays with the gang to help set up the party, I am going to take Tobias out for the day.

Then we're going to his dad's house where the party is going to be held and surprise him.

I cannot wait for all of this!

"I know, buddy. So let's get up and make some breakfast," I say, and he jumps out of the bed.

"Yay! Let's go! Let's go! Let's go!" he exclaims as he grabs my arm and pulls me out of bed as well.

I walk with him into the kitchen and set him up on the counter before getting all of the ingredients that we need.

Tobias's favorite breakfast is actually his dad's French toast and a fruit bowl, so that's what we're making this morning. I start fixing it, letting Toby help me with what he can, and soon enough, it's all done.

I put all of the food into separate containers, and after I grab my phone and keys, Toby and I walk out of the penthouse and take the elevator up two floors to Tobias's place. I use the key that Tobias gave me to open the door, and very quietly, Toby and I make our way to the kitchen. I grab three plates, some forks and knives, napkins, butter, and syrup. Then we walk into Tobias's room where we find him still peacefully asleep.

Toby looks at me, and I nod my head with a smile. He runs over and jumps on top of Tobias, causing him to wake up immediately.

"Happy birthday, Daddy!" Toby yells, and I can't help but let out a laugh. Once Tobias realizes what's going on, he lets out a laugh himself and smiles.

"Hi, buddy! Thank you!" he says as he wraps Toby up in a hug. Then he looks at me, and I smile as I hold up the containers.

"We brought breakfast," I say as I walk over to him. He scoots over, and I sit down beside him before opening the containers.
