Chapter 26: Wings

 Shopping was a good escape and I needed one right now. But even when we reached the mall and both of the girls start searching for costumes and masks I couldn’t take my mind off of Cam and what he had said. It was my mistake to let you leave and save you. And there is no freaking way I’m gonna dump Hell for your sake.

-I just adore this mask! Arianne said cheerfully. 

-Looks really good on you and- Oh this is it! Pen said running over to a hanger picking out a fairy costume. It was a cute dress actually, purple and full of sparkles with wings.

 -Take it! Arianne encouraged her. She on the other hand had already picked her costume. As a sexy policewoman. A dark blue corset with short shorts at the same color. She even had handcuffs and a fake gun. She also took a simple blue mask, covering only her eyes. Pen decided to take it and also found a beautiful purple mask matching the dress 

-Your turn! Arianne told me

-I’ll just wear a dress and a mask. I said waving my hands in the air. Choosing a costume now, wasn’t a priority.

-Not gonna happen. They both said in union. God had they become besties now?

-Come on choose something! Pen told me squeezing my hand

-I don’t really-

-Catwoman? Arianne suggested

-I actually- I tried to said but Pen cut me off

-Angel? I tried not to chuckle. That was pretty ironic

-Pen I-

-Red riding hood? Arianne tried again. I ignored her

-Demon?

-What about pirate?

-Bunny! Arianne said showing me a pretty cute white mini strapless dress, with pink lines on it and of course bunny’s pink or white ears.

-If I take it can we go for some coffee? I really needed some caffeine on my system. 

-sure! Pen said smiling and clapping her hands. Well someone was excited about the party I guess. Not me

 I end up taking the darn bunny costume, the bunny’s ear and a white mask as well. We headed over to Starbucks and when we ordered we start talking.

-So what time should I come over your place? Arianne asked, supporting her head in her hand.

-I will come with Daniel. I replied

-Not Cam? Pen asked. Ouch.

-She’s not with Cam. Arianne said in a dead serious voice. Pen’s eyes fell on me

-Aren’t you? Then why were you crying over there after you talked to him. HOLY CRAP. I could feel Arianne staring at me but of course I didn’t dared to look at her. Ugh why Pen couldn’t just keep her mouth shut? I mean yeah, she was completely clueless of the situation but still.

-I..nothing. I wasn’t crying I was just upset over something. Nothing to do with Cam. The waiters came and served us our drinks. I took mine and quickly took a sip.

-Are you sure there’s nothing going on between the two of you? You look at each other in a way..well.. you know. She said taking also a sip

-Luce coming with me on the W.C? You don’t mind Pen. She said smiling already to her feet. I needed an escape like now! But I followed her.

 Once alone she shot me a killer look.
