Chapter 27: Showing the wings

When I opened my eyes the first thing I realize was that I was laying on the bed on my own room. The next was that both Arianne –how had she gotten here?- and Daniel were leaning above me, both looking pretty concern, especially Daniel.

-Hey there. Arianne’s face broke into a small smile and Daniel exhaled in relied taking my hand in his. He brought it in his lips and pressed a soft kiss

-What.. What happened? I asked sitting up. 

 My back wasn’t burning me now neither I felt like a dozen daggers where buried there like I felt before.

-Well.. Someone has her own wings. Arianne replied. I blink trying to progress what she had just said. 

 My wings? The burn on my back and me fainting was because I had my wings?

-How are you feeling? Daniel asked him

-I’m fine I just.. I glanced back at Arianne

-Can I see them? She laughed and held out her hand to help me up. Then she turned to Daniel

-Promise you will no freak out if you see your girlfriend with wings? I guess he was too stunned to reply because he just nodded. 

 Both me and Arianne stopped in front of the mirror

-Here? I mean… Yours are huge! Will the room…erm.. have enough space? She seemed confused for a while glancing around. 

-I guess you’re right. Get dressed and I’ll be waiting downstairs. She said and walked away grinning at me

 Get dressed? Oh.. I was wearing Daniel’s shirt. He seemed to notice as well because he chuckled

-Not funny. I said walking to my closet.

  I picked up and tank top and a jean and once I wore them, I headed downstairs, with Daniel on my heel. Thank God my parents weren’t home.

 Outside Arianne was waiting for us, with her white wings spread. It was almost 12 o clock at night and no one would pass from here. Arianne waved for me to go to her and that’s what I did.

-So. Stand right here. She start and put my body in front of her and then he came in front of me.

-Now the first times, it’s difficult but once you get used to it, you will be able to appear them whenever you want. And you’re gonna learn how to fly but not today. She smiled at me to encouraged me

-Shall we? I nodded. Truth was I was eager to see how would I look like with wings.

-I want you to close your ears and focus. I did as she said, shutting my eyes.

-Nice. Now focus. Think of my wings. Their feathers, their softness, their color.. You’ve got them, you just need to push them out. Imagine them escaping out of your body. I took a deep breath and did all of the above

 At first nothing happened but after a few more attempts, I felt like someone was pulling something out of my back and a sharp pain pierced my back. I wanted to scream, but it was a bearable pain so I just bit my lower lip hard.

-Open your eyes Luce. I heard Arianne said. When I did I saw her smiling and Daniel looking at me with his mouth hanging open. 

-So…it worked? I asked, although I had my answer by simple looking at Daniel

-Yep. Arianne said. I felt my back a little heavier but nothing more. 

-Daniel? Mind bringing down my mirror? Now I was totally happy I had choose a mirror which could remove.
