Namjoon had settled on Chinese food from one of his favorite restaurants. To Namjoon, their chicken was to die for and although it was fast food, it was delicious and he couldn't bring himself to feel bad about eating it. He had briefly wondered what kind of food Taehyung might have enjoyed – he knew literally nothing about the younger's taste in food. He knew he should have asked but here we was, happily paying the cashier when his food was ready and forgetting such thoughts for the time being.
He walked back to his work building. It was a peaceful setting. He walked slowly, enjoying the way his legs stretched. There was a soft breeze nudging the hair on his head to the side the faintest bit. It made him smile. Namjoon took in a deep breath, closing his eyes and just relaxing. He liked these silent moments. He wished the air was fresher in the city – crisper and cleaner. He loved inhaling that scent of fresh air. He let his thought wander as he walked, wishing himself to be at the beach or perhaps camping in the woods instead of being stuck in an office building half the night with Kim Taehyung.
He left his eyes trailed his work building as he approached, silently marveling at how men could build such monsters of metal and steel. He sighed. It was another night of late work and another day off afterwards. Sleep sounded marvelous at the moment but as his stomach rumbled, he hurried up the building's steps and finally to the elevator.
He stuck his nose in the bag of fast food he was clutching, inhaling the scent of chicken, fried noodles and sweet and sour sauce. He loved that smell. There was a faint ding as the elevator stopped on his floor and he quickly walked out, finding the room the two of them had been working in.
Stepping into the room, Namjoon's face scrunched up in mild surprise. Taehyung was slumped over onto the table, his face buried in his arms. He seemed to be sleeping, quiet snores coming from his mouth despite being muffled by his shirt. Namjoon moved forward, putting the food onto the work table.
What should he do?
A part of him wanted to wake Taehyung up, perhaps tap his shoulder or shake him, but another part wanted to let him sleep.
Namjoon shook his head, "You're getting too soft," he muttered to himself.
It was true, he was developing a soft spot for the man dead asleep on the table. He hated it in a way but in another way, he fully welcomed it. He was a structured man who liked things to go according to plan. Taehyung was an energetic man that surely never went the way Namjoon wished. He thought he should resent, hate, or at least dislike the younger but he didn't. He was finding himself not minding the younger's company.
He set the food out, putting a large serving in front of Taehyung's folded arms, still debating on whether or not he should wake the younger up. Finally, rolling his eyes, he walked over to the other side of the table and shook the younger man gently. Taehyung stirred slightly, still not awake.
"Taehyung?" Namjoon spoke into the younger's ear.
Taehyung stirred once more but did wake up.
Namjoon sighed, shaking him a bit harder and repeated calling the younger's name into his ear. Taehyung finally lifted his head, eyelids dropping and hair a bit crazy. It made Namjoon want to laugh but he settled for a small chuckle as he watched Taehyung wake himself. He sat up and then back into his chair, eyes landing briefly on the food in front of him. A lazy smile creeped onto his face as he swerved his head to stare at Namjoon with half lidded eyes.
"I'd like your voice to wake me up more often," he reached out to the container in front of him, opening it and peering inside. Namjoon watched as he absentmindedly licked his lips and searched for a pair of chopstick.
"I friggin love Chinese food," he muttered, finally finding the chopsticks, ripping them open and digging into his meal. Namjoon was glad he had made a good decision.
Namjoon sat back in his own chair, doing the same as Taehyung but at a slower rate. He made a small groan of appreciation as the greasy noodles hit his tongue. Taehyung stopped eating, his own noodles halfway to his mouth as he looked at Namjoon.
Did Namjoon just moan?
Whatever the sound was, Taehyung like it. A lot. He wanted Namjoon to do it again.
"Is it good, Joonie?" He finished putting his noodles in his mouth, chewing and then digging around in his container of a hunk of chicken.
Namjoon's face heated as he not only heard what Taehyung called him but what he had just done, "Great," his voice cracked. He tried to straighten himself, "Don't call me that...."
Taehyung chuckled, "Let's play a game while we eat."
Namjoon rolled his eyes but saw no harm in a small game so he nodded, "What kind of game?"
Taehyung's smile grew, "Spell me."
"Me?" Namjoon questioned. It was an easy word and he didn't understand this game at all but he did as he was told after seeing a nod of confirmation from Taehyung.
"M-E," it was an easy word and Namjoon spelled it as he stuffed his mouth with a bit of chicken wrapped in noodles.
Taehyung shook his head, "You forgot the D."
Namjoon's brows furrowed, "There is no D in me."
"Not yet there isn't...."
Namjoon's face flushed in embarrassment. He could practically feel his cheeks turning red and he knew Taehyung was enjoying the reaction by the way he chuckled as he continued eating.
Namjoon would get him back yet. He just needed to step up his game.
