It was raining outside – peaceful and calming as Namjoon groggily opened his eyes. He smiled as he looked at the clock on his bedside table, its number flashing neon red in the darkness of the room. It flashed the time and date and Namjoon couldn't help but laugh as he realized what day it was. It was June 12th, a year to the day since Namjoon had first walked into work and met the infamous flirt, Kim Taehyung.
Namjoon remembered a man practically dripping sex appeal and sucking on a lollie saying, "Do you have a name or can I call you mine?" Taehyung had changed since then. While he still had his sexy side, it was far more reserved. The man was, instead, cute. Yes, that's how Kim Namjoon would describe his boyfriend. He would describe Kim Taehyung as cute. The man did aegyo for him almost constantly at home, hoping to be rewarded with a small kiss or a bite of whatever Namjoon was eating.
The pick-up lines had remained consistent, though. Taehyung would often surprise Namjoon with flowers or chocolate always with a silly note attached that said something goofy like, Of all the beautiful curves in your body, your smile is my favorite or If I hired 1,000 artists and made them work for 100 years they still wouldn't be able to paint a picture that is as beautiful as you. And there were many times when they were by themselves and Taehyung would hug Namjoon close and whisper things like, "Do you want to go on an ate with me? I'll give you the D later..." making Namjoon blush crazily and push the man away in embarrassment. But Taehyung knew he loved those lines.
Namjoon rolled over, away from the clock, coming face to face with the flawless sleeping form of his boyfriend.
Namjoon loved the sound of that: boyfriend.
Reaching out, he traced the shape of Taehyung's face with the pad of his forefinger. He ran it over Taehyung's nose and cheeks, stopping to quickly trace the outline of his lips. The younger stirred beneath his touch, the lips Namjoon was tracing spreading into a smile.
Without opening his eyes, Taehyung uttered a quiet, "Good morning..."
Namjoon would never get used to the deepness of Taehyung's voice, especially in the morning when the younger wasn't fully awake and sleep was still pulling at him.
"Do you know what day it is?" Namjoon asked, pulling his hand away from Taehyung's face to bury it in his hair instead.
Taehyung chuckled, the deepness of his voice bringing a shiver to Namjoon's spine. Taehyung smirked sleepily. He could feel his boyfriend shudder and knew why he did. He was happy to know that even after almost a year of dating he still had that effect on the older man.
"Saturday?" he asked innocently.
Namjoon huffed and pushed at his shoulder slightly before being engulfed in a warm hug. Taehyung brought him close to his body, letting his head rest in Namjoon's hair. He loved Namjoon's hair – it smelled like the coconut shampoo he used.
"It's been a year, huh?" he asked, stroking his boyfriend's back with his thumb.
Namjoon nodded from under Taehyung's head, nudging his nose into Taehyung bare chest as he hugged the younger back.
"Yup, Tae Tae. It's been an entire year." Namjoon laughed.
Taehyung gave one of his boxy grins despite the fact Namjoon couldn't even see his happiness, "Do you want to celebrate?"
Namjoon nodded fervently.
Taehyung couldn't help but laugh again, giving a quick peck to Namjoon's head, "How did I ever catch you?"
Namjoon pulled back at that, kissing Taehyung on the lips softly. When their kiss ended, Namjoon's eyes were bright and filled with nothing but adoration and love for the man in front of him, "I guess I fell for your pick up lines..."
