Chapter 14 - Starting to feel something

(Maddie's Pov)

I removed his arm around me.

And I went down from the parapet, pretending to not care, but I really felt so awkward again.

"Ahem," I coughed,

And walked away from him after that.

"I saw that, we all did!" Mitch started talking, when I approached her.

"Shut up, you're not helping!" I said,

And I pulled her arm towards the professor to get another paper.

(James's Pov)

I was still standing here,

I'm not moving one bit.

'Cause I just felt this strange feeling inside me. That I haven't felt before,

Nevermind!

Maybe because she just startled me, with her loud screaming a minute ago.

I shook my head,

And went to Zayne.

(Mitch's Pov)

The bell rang,

It's lunch time.

We we're sitting here in the canteen in one table, the four of us.

With Maddie, Penny, and Carl.

Maddie was reading facts about doctoral courses in google on her phone.

But she started watching something,

"Oh my- Maddie someone's eating here!" I shouted,

She was watching a video during a surgery,
with blood and human intestines and so much more.

"Eww, you're so disgusting." I added,

"Mind your own business, and eat your food, you're getting ketchup all over your clothes." Maddie said, with her eyes only focused on her phone.

"Oh yeah, I forgot to ask you about your course, Carl. What is it." I asked Carl,

"Well, I didn't really expect that Maddie would pick the same course as mine-"

Carl wasn't done talking, but Maddie speaks up.

"No way, seriously? Now I don't have to worry that much." Maddie said,

"Uhh Maddie," Penny laughed,

"You got mustard all over on your shirt, right there." Penny pointed at the stain on Maddie's clothes.

Maddie stood up,

"I'm just gonna clean myself, I'll be back." Maddie said,

(Maddie's Pov)

I walked all the way to the door,

But I bumped onto Jessica, and put some of the mustard in her clothes.

"What do we have here? It's the b**** who humiliated me in her friend's stupid cafe." Jessica shouted for the people to hear it.

"Excuse me," I said,

I'm trying to ignore her, but boy, she really wants to fight with me.

She pulled my arm, when I walked around her.

And pulled me right in front of her.

I didn't dare to speak.

"I have to follow my words, and I said I have to get back to you, so-" She raised a hand again,

I have nothing to do, so I just closed my eyes and-

But wait, she was about to hit me, but a hand grabbed her arm.

"James?" Jessica asked, "Let me go, I have to teach her a lesson for messing with you." She squirms, but she really can't free her arm from his hand.

"Wait, wait, wait. Let me get this straight, you did all of this, just for me?" James asked,

"She was bothering you." Jessica answered,

"You have no reason to do this. You know that." James said,

Everyone's watching them.

"Yes I have, I love-"

"You don't have to do this." James added,

"Why? You're my boy-"

"That, that's another thing. Don't try to show the world that I'm your boyfriend, 'cause I'm not." James raised his voice.

Oh boy, they're such drama queens.

"But James, I really love-"

"I'm not your anything, okay? So just scram!"

"James," Jessica said,

"Get out of my sight." James said,

I was wrong, he really CAN make a girl cry on purpose.

Jessica and her friends went out of the canteen.

"What a good boy," I said, "Keep that up, you tell your girlfriend not to bother me anymore, okay?" I said, and I was staring at the door that Jessica exited.

I looked at him, still smiling.

He was glaring at me, and my smile faded.

He started walking towards me,

I stepped backwards,

Our distance is not that far, it's only half a meter.

He leaned forward, getting his face near at mine.

I avoid eye contact, and I couldn't help but to feel awkward.

I accidentally looked at him, but he straighten his back. Phew!

I was able to breath properly now.

I looked at him again,

"Ow!" I said, after hitting the back of my head.

"What was that for?" I asked, holding my head that he just hit!!!

"Don't talk like I'm at your side, you're both annoying." He said, and he walks out of the canteen.

Seriously, the one that he just hit really hurts.
