I am made of glass.
Gentle,
sweet,
and fragile.
But my world was made out of
pillows and I was safe.
You broke and entered into my perfect world.
You with your crooked grin
and perfect lies.
The way you took my heart
and swiftly stole it.
You left.
Gone and out the window of my world.
I waited.
Yes, I did for you.
I had put so much trust into you.
My friends told me to give up,
but I knew, knew that you'd come back.
Because I thought you loved me.
For weeks I wandered around aimlessly.
Not knowing what to do,
because you weren't there.
I was a loss puppy
without its owner.
Three months later,
I found you
kissing another girl
and stealing her heart
as you did with mine.
I followed you home
and confronted you.
You laughed,
at me.
You picked up my heart
and threw it back at me.
It skidded on the ground,
and stopped at my feet
before it shattered
like a tiny little daggers
shining dangerously back at me.
The first tear fell
unwelcomed and unstoppable.
It lept off of my face
and fell on my shattered heart.
But it was unable to heal the damage
you made.
I picked up all the pieces
and turned without looking back.
Never to look back at your face
Never to look back at your lies
Never to look back at your heart.
I was made of glass
and now I am made of broken glass
thanks to you.
