I have not learned
how to say goodbye.
How to say goodbye
to the memories,
the times that will never be,
and the people.
How can you say goodbye
to the places which made you who you are
and the people who helped you there?
How can you say goodbye
to the good times,
the times you felt right,
the times which made you happiest?
You never know how much
people and places
are really worth to you
until you lose them.
I have to find a way to say goodbye.
So I can move on.
And not just sit in the park lot
and watch everyone go by
as tears silently flow.
I need to find a way to say goodbye.
So I can move on.
And find my new rock,
a new place where I can feel at ease.
I need to find a way to say goodbye,
to the places
which meant so much to me.
The places which shaped who I am
and brought me closer to the people.
I need to find a way to say goodbye,
to the people.
The people who supported me
even when they didn't know.
The people who breathed life
into my dead body.
The people who I watched grow
into who they are.
I need to find a way to say goodbye,
to all of you.
I need to find a way to say goodbye,
to you.
I need to fill the hole inside my chest
before it swallows me too.
I need a new beginning,
but before that
I have to find an ending.
I need to find a way to say goodbye.
