and he smiles.
She smiles
because of love
the tall handsome boy who she has admired for days
casted his crooked grin at her
and exchanged numbers after class.
Her heart is a bird,
trying to escape the cage around itself
to break free and show the world
her love.
He smiles
because of love
his childhood crush and best friend
was in love,
but not with him.
His smile hid the pain on his face
to see her with another boy.
His heart is a sad beat of a drum,
beating against the silence on a stormy day.
She smiles
a wonderful smile,
a smile that casts joy to the world.
He smiles
a pained smile,
a hopeless smile.
