I dragged my mom to the supermarket to get something for Cyrus. We had been dating for nearly two months and I wanted to get him something special for Valentine's Day which was the next day.

I roamed down the aisles, thinking about what he'd like, but I had no idea. I didn't want to be cliché and get a box of chocolates and he already had a bunch of stuffed animals. My mom had brought me around the store, showing me different options. One of which was a stuffed dinosaur with a box of chocolates, but dinosaurs was his and Iris' thing and I knew that it was a sensitive subject with him.

We saw several dumb, sappy things, but I'm not a sappy kind of guy. We were in the store for nearly an hour until I got so angry that I sat on the ground in frustration.

My mom came over and kneeled beside me. She whispered, "Are you okay?"

I started rambling, saying in a voice similar to yelling, "No, I'm not okay! There is nothing here that suits our relationship and I don't know what he likes!"

A few heads in the aisle and passing by turned in my direction, realizing that I was talking about a boy. "Well, what does he like?" My mom asked, still in her calm voice beside me.

I sniffed. "Well, he likes movies and milkshakes and baby taters." I stopped suddenly, an idea hatching in my head. I sprang up from the ground. "We need to go to The Spoon!"

I saw Cyrus near his locker talking with Buffy and the butterflies in my stomach came back. I held his present behind my back and started to walk over. When I reached him, he looked over at me and smiled as I took his present out from behind me. His smiled grew and made me smile more as he stared down at his gift: a bowl filled with baby taters and movies.
He gave me a side hug and mumbled, "Thank you so much" into my shoulder.

I handed him his gift and he pulled one out from inside his locker, a white teddy bear with a rose and a box of chocolates because he was a sappy kind of guy.
